They literally made the reopening of Marché a big thing, after a short hiatus of 2 months for renovation works. With the reopening also came lots of promotions, weekly deals and in this case, the big, XXXL schnitzel.

It was XXXL because the slab of meat (choice between chicken, pork and beef) was flattened, breaded and cooked to perfection, and I thought it went very well with the accompanying lingonberry jam. The Pork Schnitzel (S$19.90) which I had was neither dry nor greasy, so I enjoyed it a lot especially when it was comparable to the size of a hand with fingers spread open.

On the other hand, if the schnitzel were to be taken with something creamy or saucy, such as soup or gravy, i would think that the coarseness of the batter would go easier to the gums and throat.

As it goes without saying, it is safe to assume that every Singaporean has seen and walked past a familiar green and white cow in the middle of a shopping mall, sometimes without even knowing it. Marché Mövenpick prides itself on its open kitchen(s) concept whilst using fresh ingredients and cooking only upon order, bringing guests that nostalgic feeling of waking on a warm weekend to walk through the farmer’s market for the day’s produce. Serving up hand-pressed juices, crisp garden salads and of course, their wonderfully sublime rösti that everybody comes here for. Hand-grated, freshly fried around the clock and garnished with the toppings of your choice, their Swiss rösti ($6.90++) is solid comfort food with potato done right in every right. Pair it with one of their juicy fresh-off-the-grill sausages and some sour cream and you’re in business. Aside from the bustling queues at their rösti kitchen, they happen to serve up a certainly underrated Seafood Paella ($19.90++), with generous portions of calamari, prawns, mussels and chunky tomatoes for that burst of freshness. Comfort food done right.

Always love a good rosti with sour cream from Marché! It’s so satisfying and exciting to watch by the sides while waiting how the potatoes are being hand grated into strips and eventually being pan-fried. Let’s not forget the final slab of sour cream that goes on top 🤤 Some places have rostis that are way oily/tasteless/soft. This place does it just fine and crisp👌🏻 but I probably shouldn’t have added the cheese...it got a bit too sinful!
