I really enjoyed our lunch at Marco Creative Cuisine. Priced at MYR 78++ (about SGD25), their Journey of Flavours makes fine dining really affordable without compromising on the quality of ingredients or flavours. There are so many other courses in this menu that I'd like to sample so you can be sure that I will return. The Journey of Flavours also included a coffee (French press) or a selection of teas or a mocktail which my friend gave it three thumbs up. This was a nice gesture as I've tried many tasting or degustation menus where you pay a bomb and yet they still charge you for coffees separately. Many of my friends have also griped about this and said that it somehow doesn't feel right. You might as well price the coffee in?

This was my mains, an interesting interpretation to the classic French duck courses. The duck breast was crispy on the skin but tender and juicy as it was sou vide to medium doneness. I loved the use of Valrhona chocolate here. Slightly sweet, tangy (from the orange) and savoury from the duck, each bite was an awesome mix of flavours.

For a moment, because of the courses I chose, I felt like I was transported back to Paris. Can you guess what I chose for my mains?

I loved how creamy the chicken liver was and that it was topped with a beautiful brûlée crust. The apple chips were a nice addition to this course, cutting out the richness intermittently.

Topped with smoked aubergine cream and generously dotted with Chilli pesto, this was truly delicious!

Am so glad that one of my best friends picked it for her birthday celebration. Our lunch started with a palate cleanser to perk up our tastebuds. When this green cup was placed in front of me, I had assumed it was a matcha latte. One sip and wow, it really woke me up! It's topped with matcha powder but underneath all that is a sharp, citrusy sorbet like drink. Really yummy and it started off our meal on a right note.
