Brings out the “Teochew-ness” in me whenever I have this comfort bowl of teochew dumpling soup with mee pok. Priced at $4 with dumpling and a dollar less without, this is certainly the most value for money bowl of comfortness you find in authentic old school Singaporean hawker fare in the CBD. As early as 830am, the stall whips up probably the most savoury bowl of goodness filled with minced pork, sliced pork, mushroom, fishball, sliced fish cake and teochew dumpling. Their Mee Pok comes al dente even without specific instructions from a fussy Mee Pok customer like me. Find them at the interim hawker centre right outside Telok Ayer MRT.
