This udon taste exactly like mala but less spicy than the usual. Mala fans can give it a try!

The BBQ chicken was cooked just right and not tough. Some spicy mince meat as side and I have added karaage squid tentacles. Always love sotongs #lunch #sgfoodgram #sgfoodiary #japanesefood #burpple

Marugame offers a quality and a huge hot bowl of udon at a reasonable pricing, for this is clam udon is priced at $12.90 😍 its so affordable in town area!

Also, they have tempura for you to purchase, or head to self serving counter to take the free tempura bites 🤤

We like it best with just a clear soup, topped with an onsen egg for that slightly creamy touch.
Of cos some crispy fried ebi or vegetables were our perfect toppings to complete the meal. Simple and good, and do look out for promotional sites to enjoy it with some discounts too.

A comforting and satisfying bowl with a complex and flavourful broth base due to addition of vege (broccoli, corn, onions), and thus a sweet, vege taste perceived in the soup. This was unlike the 1-dimensional, thick Miso broth typically served in ramen shops, so this might not suit everyone's palate. Plus, the addition of vege perhaps allows one to feel less fattening and healthier as well.

Apparently Marugane Udon is known to be the No. 1 udon noodles restaurant chain in the world! It is located at B4 of ION Orchard, with a seating of 30-40 pax. There is a dedicated aisle for ordering and collection. So you'll place order, wait for a few minutes while your food is prepared. Once prepared, choose to add on some tempura and drinks and make payment. There is also a seasonings corner where you get to add coriander, spring onions, grated ginger, wasabi and tempura bits (at no additional charge).

The Pork Udon in Spicy Miso Soup ($11.90 nett) is nothing like the miso soup base we are used to when eating ramen. I found the soup a little salty on the first taste, but gradually got used to it. They are pretty generous with the sliced pork (fried in spicy sauce and onions). Interestingly, they serve lady's fingers and broccoli with the udon! And the udon noodles were really chewy.

Oh, for those with larger appetite, you may opt for the large bowl ($13.70).
