Tucked in a little corner at the basement of Raffles City, this is indeed a hidden gem. Flavourful pork belly slices plus side of corn bits, seaweed flakes as well as an onsen egg atop a bowl of fluffy rice, it’s truly an amazing union. Booked this through eatigo at a 50% discount and it just made everything so much more worth! Be sure to get their tempura items as well that’s freshly prepared upon order to complete your meal!

Set consist of 2 barley drinks, beef udon in bonito broth, beef rice with unagi and a separate side of pork cutlet. Pork cutlet was done just right as it was neither dry nor not crispy. Udon on the other hand, broth was a little too salty to my liking. Unagi was on point and went really well with the rice. The set is definitely worth the price. 8.0/10

Got this under the eatigo discount.

Plenty of tomatoes, a rather refreshing broth. Udon was nice and chewy, could barely finish it. Beef was nice with the broth.

Broccoli was a tad hard though, could have been cooked for a while longer.

Got a fave deal so this bowl and a cuppa barley at 5$.
Perfectly cooked Onsen egg and some batter bits with pretty good crunch!

Happy :)

I was craving a rich bowl of curry πŸ› for some reason and it was not just any curry but it had to be the β€œ Gao” kind of Japanese curry .

Decided to try the curry udon from Marugame because the Photos look so good .

But it was honestly a let down . The proof is in the curry but not for this case . The curry was watered down and more like soup rendering it weak and unable to cling on to the slippery udon noodles.

The star was probably the fried chicken which comes with the curry but I had asked them to serve it on the side ( which is always the thing to do when you have fried food with gravy / soup )

The chicken was juicy and succulent but I still want my curry πŸ˜ͺ......

Where can I get a spicy and thick Japanese curry ? πŸ˜”

The texture of the udon was good (not too hard or soft), and the broth is rich and fragrant. The clams were tasteless though...
