Matcha and Houjicha flavours were fragrant and not too sweet. Added matcha warabi mochi topping for $1.50

Pancakes with berries compote, matcha granola, berries and matcha sauce. Good for sharing.

Scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, chicken sausage, grilled tomato, sautéed mushrooms & toasted multigrain sourdough

The drinks were amazing! Hojicha latte was better than the matcha latte and will return just for the hojicha.

Cake was too dense and heavy, feels jelak after a few bites. Do not recommend if you have had a heavy meal before desserts.

Latte verdict: 4.25/5

Matcha soft serve. Bittersweet matcha taste which I enjoyed together with the azuki beans, it was a perfect combination.
Houjicha soft serve. This is the flavor that started it all when they first started their little hole-in-the-wall store. Definitely one of the best hojicha soft serve I’ve tasted.
Kurogama soft serve. Black sesame was fragrant and had the nutty taste. This tasted a lot like black sesame paste.
The matcha cookie was super good and definitely enjoyed it.

This roll cake was very “matcha” - there was the matcha chantilly cream and the matcha powder drizzled around it, you’d love this if you’re a fan of the authentic bitter, fragrant matcha tastes. It went well with the sweet Azuki. The charcoal sponge was a little bit too dry to me but overall this was a pretty good bittersweet cake.
It’s perfect if you like the bitter matcha tastes but probably not if you’re looking for something sweet to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings.

Would I pay $6? Maybe once, just to try it. I wouldn’t get it again. I’d probably try the other pastries.

Be prepared to wait - we had to queue about 20 minutes to get a seat here on a Saturday afternoon.
