One of the things I love about the #workfromhome situation, is the freedom to take some time out and rejuvenate with a quiet cuppa tea 🍵 and indulgent sweets to feed the soul in the middle of a work day. 🏠❤️

I especially enjoyed this Matcha Choux Puff by @matchayasg which was a bite of zen in every rich burst of Matcha goodness. Encased in a soft choux shell with just the right balance for hard-core Matcha lovers, I am truly thankful that they went out of their way to deliver these bites of love even on a Public Holiday. Although I personally prefer my choux puffs slightly crispy with a sweet tinge ( à la @beardpapasg), I had no complains about this softer and crumbly version which didn't overpower the star of this dessert: The Matcha Tea Filling. 🍵💚💚💚 Can't wait to try the Matcha Azuki Roll Cake next!!! 😋🍰💚💚💚

Throwback to this matcha tiramisu I had. To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of matcha but I thought this sounded interesting. It was more of a matcha cream cake, with alternating layers of sponge cake and green tea-flavoured cream. The matcha taste was very faint.
The part that left the strongest impression was the thick layer of cocoa powder on top. Everyone kept eyeing me suspiciously because I choked and coughed repeatedly. There was so much dry powder it felt like I was doing the cinnamon challenge. My favourite part was probably the matcha chocolate on top, which had a nice sweetness and creaminess.

Price: $8.50

Each of us got a matcha cream puff and it was loaded with matcha cream that flows out. Matcha flavour was not overly intense yet it’s flavour was not compromised. Not too sweet as well and the best out of their cream puff ranges I’ve tried.

$8 Ice ceremonial grade matcha, less sugar. Has a mild sour aftertaste. Think its an acquired taste. Guess I was kinda expecting it to be a little bit more of a dry and sweet aftertaste.

Price is comparable to the Arabica but Arabica has a richer matcha taste that pairs well with the milk.

Wouldn't buy again at this price point.

This was taken on the first time I paid Matchaya a visit after what feels like ages. They rose to the occasion by having Rose as part of their seasonal specialty. 🌹

I’ll be fully transparent. The yuzu jam embedded in the layers - I personally found its bright, citrusy flavour to be too different and thereby conflicting with the overall endearing sweetness of the rose-matcha combo. I did personally let them know my feedback as well!

Still, given what it’s worth, it’s definitely a nice, sweet creation to enjoy in time for Valentine’s Day, the season of love! 😍❤️

Rather than not-so-subtly hinting at him to get this for me, when I saw Matchaya promoting this box of handcrafted chokoretos for Valentine’s Day I was like “bitch please imma pamper myself.” And I’m glad I did, cause these were so so delicious. Very reasonably priced at $18.90, this box of 16 comes with 4 different flavours of chocolate: matcha, houjicha, kinako, and raw cacao. Did I mention it includes free delivery as well, even on vday itself? Idea boys.
