Mad respect for the young owners here. Serving up Cantonese-style porridge, this young couple starts their day at 3am?!
Not to be missed is the fish porridge! We were glad that this porridge didn't have a strong "fishy" smell. The owners shared that they use boneless haruan fish slices, which doesn't come with the unpleasant aftertaste 🐟
Instead, the porridge is smooth and has a thick consistency. All porridges also come with fresh watercress. Add in an egg for a richer consistency 🍳💞
Overall, we were impressed by the porridges at Mei Jie Porridge, along with the hardwork and dedication of the young couple. Their porridges are freshly made everyday and it is evident from the taste.

Got the most popular item on menu - Mixed Pork Porridge. This is available in many variations, but what's unchanging is the generous portions of ingredients in each bowl. Ours contained tender pork slices and handmade meatballs. We also had pork intestine and pork liver (though you can order a different variation if you prefer to do without the offals) 🐷
The creamy and rich Cantonese-style porridge is prepared fresh daily. Was heartening to see the young couple take over from the previous generation owners and continue to put in hardwork and dedication, waking up at 3am just to prepare these 👍
