Broth was rich and flavourful. Truffle flavour was strong enough which was enjoyable. The noodles were springy while char siew was soft and tender. For the price, this bowl of ramen was definitely on the steeper side.

The broth was light and pleasant as it was MSG free. The lemon added a hint of citrus to the broth which made this appetising. The noodles were springy and and of right texture while the char siew was soft and tender. Overall this is a decent bowl of ramen but priced on the steeper side.

Texture of the ramen is just right for me. I find that the soup is a little similar to lobster bisque. Overall, like it especially in rainy days. Satisfying!

First impression was that this was MSG-free, so was really delighted to find that the soup was easy on the palate, yet the robust broth lingered. (But not for long, continue reading!)

The broth was infused with the fragrance of porcini and light yuzu/lemon taste. First few slurps was pleasant and had me reaching for more. However, after awhile, the taste more or less tapered off and no longer amused my tastebuds. It was a very one-dimensional taste in my opinion. Further, I was more of a Tonkotsu fan. But I didn’t regret trying, because the ingredients of the soup (mushroom and citrus) was certainly an interesting combination and worth a try. You may end up liking it!

The ramen was al-dente. I think it was some sort of wheat flour (healthier I guess?) which I enjoyed because it has a more clean bite to it. It isn’t your typical Hakata style ramen noodles, but it’s equally good in terms of the bite and the mild wheat taste.

Definitely worth a try to explore whether this bowl of Ramen is for you!

The broth smells comforting and uplifting at the same time. Mushrooms are not a common ingredient in ramen, but these stir-fried porcini and button mushrooms go well with the lemony chicken soup.

Apart from the signatures - Truffle Shio and Porcini Shoyu, Men House Yamamoto has a range of salmon based bowls - Salmon Golden, Salmon Red and a soon to come Salmon Snow. All of them are at the same price of $14.80. This salmon ginger broth somehow tasted really familiar but we weren’t able to exactly pinpoint. It came with a small slice of salmon on top of the usual cha shu. While the salmon was a little dry, its flavour was pretty distinct in the broth. That said, we preferred the Porcini Shoyu much more for its depth of well-balanced flavours.

Men House Yamamoto’s new to Raffles City Shopping Centre and it seems like they are gradually rolling out their full menu. They even have a vegetarian Avocado Ramen ($14.80) that will be available soon!
