All the way from Kyoto, the famous Menbaka Fire Ramen has occupied one of the stores at cineleisure for almost a year and finally I had my hands on one of their bowls!

We went for their Shoyu Fire Ramen, Tonkotsu Fire Ramen and Crispy Charcoal Karage. It’s not just gimmicky but the flavor of the broth is really good. It’s rich yet light, and has a rich fragrance of spring onion from the firing of hot oil over it. The noodles are on the softer side and pleasantly soaks up the flavors of the broth. The crispy charcoal karrage lives up to its name of crispiness and the batter has a touch of wasabi to it. It’s kind of overwhelming for a non-wasabi eater but the yuzu and sesame dressing kind of downplay the pungentness, balancing the flavors.

Ordered the value meal (Shoyu fire ramen at $13.90) with an additional chashu ($1.50) and Ajitama ($0.90).

Would have to say that the smoky (wokhey) taste and smell was fabulous and noodle texture was just nice (chewy and springy). I’m not someone who usually orders shoyu broth because I love how flavourful Tonkotsu is but after reading various reviews, it seems like Tonkotsu broth will overpower the taste of the wokhey.

Despite not being a fan of shoyu broth, I would come back again for this! The price point including GST and service charge amounted to close to $20 but for that wokhey, I think it’s worth it 🤤 Also, the culinary theatre experience was gone so quickly in the blink of an eye, I wouldn’t mind trying it once more 😝

💸: $19.90

💬: If you don't like spring onions, you might still find the taste prominent, but the fire does give the broth a delicious yummy wokhei essence so if you can overlook the spring onion-iness, this is worth a try!

Get the shoyu fire ramen instead of the tonkatsu haha shoyu is nicer :-) soup was yum yum w the flaming spring onion oil it became so flavourful too. N u get to watch a free show haha what’s there to complain but the fire is damn huge af n hot LOL but it’s all bout the experience eh so alls good. Oh the queue time is super long tho like 1-1.5h good luck to u

Looks carcinogenic tbh LOLOL I think it was nubbad, tastes like regular karaage except the crust was v v slightly citrusy. Overall nice texture! But I think it’s abit ex for karaage haha tbh you’d be btr off just going for the fire ramen IMO!

This tastes like matcha powder mixed w beer like literally the 2 things mixed tgt hahaha but it’s interesting foshure :-) Nvr had a matcha beer before so it’s a new experience but I think I’ll probs stick to matcha and beer on their own HAHAHA bc I prefer the 2 things separately 😂
