The noodles were very chewy. It is more like udon than soba. The sauce wasnt jelat but couldnt really taste the cheese. The soup was bland. If there is leftover sauce, can request for rice to mix it. Overall, normal bowl of noodles.

Exclusively available this weekend, Menya Kokoro is celebrating the launch of their new Yokohama Iekei Ramen dish (U.P. $15.80) at 100AM with a limited time deal 🥹

Only for today and tomorrow, enjoy a bowl of regular Iekei Ramen and get a second bowl free! 💸

The ramen comes with tender pork slices, seaweed, hanjuku egg 🍳 and rich savoury broth. Bringing together Hakata-style tonkotsu broth with Tokyo-style shoyu ramen, this dish can be eaten in 3 different ways: normally as a ramen, pair the noodles with seaweed and rice, lastly with chilli 🍜🔥

Although the queue is short, we waited for ~20min for the food to arrive. In the meantime, you can also enjoy their all-day $5 draft beer🍻
Overall, a value-for-money option and don’t miss this weekend’s special deal!

🍴Was craving some dry ramen and this satisfied with the homemade thick and al-dente soba noodles, creamy onsen egg, along with textural mix of ingredients of tender minced meat and crunchy fresh greens. The Kokoro sauce was a tad watered down and could be spicier (found myself adding some chili powder to amp it up) but enjoyed the flavours altogether with added tang from the vinegar. Also appreciated the option of less noodles for more vegetables for a less carb-heavy dish.

Added on the value set for $4.20 that includes a choice of side and drink. Preferred the crispy and juicy karaage over the chef’s special curry croquette (crispy but could do with stronger curry flavour). The genmaicha teabag was quite light and more similar to green tea.

Menya Kokoro now has their noodles freshly made in-house using 100% whole grain wheat flour imported from Japan. The result is these thick noodles with a super distinct chew.

They’ve launched seasonal Tsukesoba bowls of 3 flavours available till end July: Original, Spicy and Mentai. Like tsukemen, the chilled noodles are served separately from a bowl of hot dipping sauce. The original broth is a savoury mix of a thick tonkotsu broth base, mackerel fish powder and spring onions, while the spicy version has additional homemade spicy oil that leaves a slight numbing mouthfeel.

Loved the texture of the noodles but they’re filling and heavy in flavour, so share with a friend to switch it up!

Okay These tsukesoba noodles are freshly made with whole grain wheat flour imported from Japanese and each serving comes with a 200g portion.

Each bowl of Kokoro Tsukesoba ($14.80) comes with the essential bamboo shoots, cha shu, ajitama egg, seaweed, naruto fish cake, yuzu peel and a sauce option for you to choose between original and spicy. The original sauce is made with mackerel fish powder, tonkotsu broth base and spring onions while the spicy version has an added homemade spicy oil.

The Mentai Tsukesoba ($14.80) has the topping of tobiko and mentai with a sauce made from the original ingredients with sesame seeds, slab of butter, spring onions and more mentai. My preferred choice is this bowl as there is a deeper umami note from each slurp.

Besides their regular menu items, the restaurant has launched a lineup of cheesy mazesoba series such as the Gyu Curry Cheese Mazesoba ($16.30/$18.30), which is available for a limited time only. This mazesoba is taking comfort food to another level with the mild spicy Japanese curry mixing with the cheese sauce, which you have to give it a good mix with their signature multigrain noodles and the marinated shabu-shabu beef. If you prefer more heat, then the newly launched Tomyum Mazesoba ($13.80/$15.80) will curb your cravings. This previously seasonal item is not back in the permanent menu due to popular demand for the fusion of flavours from the fiery tomyum spices and the Japanese’s minced meat with the soba noodles.

For purchases above $50, enjoy free gyozas, worth $5.20, along with your meal or you can also supplement your mazesoba with the new Kurozu Tori Karaage ($5.20).
