I ordered a takeaway. The thin noodles go well with the rich broth. The char siew is also really tender today.

I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of tsukemen (dipping ramen), as in I’d never pick this over the classic ramen, cause I’m a huge fan of having my noods just sitting and nua-ing in the piping hot broth and slurping all that up 🤤buuuuut that said, I gotta admit this Tom Yum Tsukemen was pretty darn good. Noodles were cooked right and held a nice bite; there was a good variety of ingredients for $15.90++ (they had quite a few bamboo shoots!!!); and oof that tom yum broth: serious punch of spices and heat. It genuinely lasted like tom yum which was just 👌🏻👌🏻 I did find the broth a tad too salty though, which makes the messy slurping not as pleasant. Not a major issue though if they could tone down the salt, so I’m defo giving my 👍🏻 for this! The Tom Yum Tsukemen’s limited to 10 a day if I’m not wrong, so be early if you’re planning to have this!

The hand-made Sanji Gyozas (5 for $6++) are not to be missed as well! The juicy and flavourful meat fillings was enveloped in a slightly crispy outer layer.

They are also really proud of their spicy takana (pickled vegetables), which they make in-house and is served as a free flow side.

We also had the Special Sanji Ramen ($15++) with it's rich and flavourful soup base. You can tell that the broth here is rich as it is quickly coagulated into a layer of film while we photographed the food here.

Happy to be back here again for another tasting; this time for the Tom Yum Tsukemen ($15.90++) which is limited to only 10 servings per day. The Tom Yum broth here is not to be belittled as it packs quite a fiery punch but goes really well with the ramen noodles.

Tucked away at Circular Road near Boat Quay, @sanji_boatquay is a Kagoshima style ramen house which recently launched both Tom Yam Ramen & Tom Yam Tsukemen on its menu. Note that there are only 10 bowls available daily 🤭, so better head down early if you want to taste that spicy tingling sensation in your ramen/tsukemen!

If you love ramen but just can’t handle the heat 🥵, check out either their Special Rich Tonkotsu or their Special Sanji Ramen. And to complete your meal, go for their crispy handmade Sanji Gyoza 👍!

Thanks @karhingc for extending the invite and @sanji_boatquay for having me!
