Reviews of good food at mezza9 (Grand Hyatt Singapore)

A very generous portion of beef perfectly grilled to a juicy medium rare. Superb crust on the steak. The beef cheek wrapped in the radicchio leaves was tender but I didn't love the flavour. However, overall, this was a very enjoyable dish with the roast treviso providing a slightly bitter taste which perfectly balanced the rich dish. This dish was part of the special menu offered by Chef Ross Lusted from @thebridgeroom ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ until Friday at @mezza9sg ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

Whipped black sesame, toasted sesame, melon slices with puffed black rice and a coconut sugar sauce
.
This was a very good dish with the toasted sesame powder and whipped sesame having deep, smoky notes while the melon and coconut sugar added a rich sweetness. A very good dessert. Available at @mezza9sg ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ for lunch and dinner until this Friday

This dish of salted crusted whole fish baked with lemongrass and lime leaves, is not only fragrant but tasted fresh and naturally sweet.
Accompanied with rice noodles, sticky rice, lettuce and a few different types of Thai sauces. At $45, itโ€™s meant to serve 2, but a single person can have it as a meal.

Everything good in the world in a day (the price was def worth it)๐Ÿ˜

Fried sea bass in superior soy sauce

What do you get when you deep fry a fish till golden ?

You get a crispy dancing fish !

Very well executed fried ๐Ÿ  fish - something that I would only order at hotels and not at tze char places ( you will know why when you take a peak at their oil Colour).

Fish was crisp and fresh , not greasy and there was no sign of stale oil being used .

The soy sauce was very fragrant and lived up to its name of being superior ( hahha) .

Paired with organic seasonal sautรฉed vegetables.

Enjoyable food , enjoyable ambience and enjoyable service .

This looks like fine art.

It tastes just as good as it looks .

I love mezza9's molten chocolate cake because it has this deep flavour and almost a rum taste-a-like flavour ( although I am pretty sure this doesn't contain alcohol ).

The cake texture is dense without being too heavy and the sweetness level is just right . The deep dark chocolate flavour speaks of high quality chocolate.

Although the chocolate doesn't flow out like how most would expect of a molten cake, this is compensated by a chocolate filling that is so rich and thick .

I easily polished the whole plate on my own .

Go get one now :)

I haven't tasted fish so fresh and this was a huge fish that even as a fish lover - I could barely finish .

The fish has a firm bite and was steamed to perfection .

The crispy ginger slices and the really high quality Hk soy sauce made this dish a winner .

Sometimes the simplest dishes are in effect the most challenging to prepare .

I had a craving for noodles but not the wok fried ( oily ) kind of noodles.

Mezza9 had the perfection combination that I was looking for.

Crispy Egg noodles drenched in a velvety egg and ginger gravy with chives , assorted mushrooms and chicken slices. I have not tasted something quite like this - not even in good Cantonese restaurants outside .

The fragrant Egg noodles were pan fried over Low fire to that perfect crisp and retained its crisp even under that blanket of sauce .

Paired with mezza9's Xo dried Chilli shrimps , this noodle was really really good .

Excellent execution but still retaining that " home cooked " feel - now how is that done ๐Ÿ˜›?

I love mushrooms ๐Ÿ„ and I love the way these mushrooms were prepared .

I honestly haven't eaten mushrooms prepared so nicely .

Sautรฉed with sweet onions ,garlic and herbs , each Juicy grilled morsel had that smokiness that was so addictive.

Once you start , you can't stop .

We sure are!

I have tried papaya salad in quite a few thai establishments but in my opinion none does it better than mezza9.

I opted out of the snake beans and tomatoes so that I could ask for an extra bit of papaya .

The beautifully shredded papaya was Fresh , crunchy and well seasoned in a sweet - sour lime dressing . Coupled with roasted whole peanuts ( although I would have liked the peanuts Chopped up a little ) and toasted dried shrimps , this appetiser really served its purpose to " open up" my appetite for my main course .

Freshly flown from New Zealand , this red snapper was beautifully grilled with charred crisp skin and a firm bite to the flesh .

On a bed of fresh organic seasonal vegetables.

With food this fresh, all you need is a sprinkle of sea salt and black pepper and the sweetness of the fish and vegetables is immediately accentuated.

What's there not to like when you have a tender and well executed piece of steak and beautifully crisp fries?

Appreciated the fact that the portion of steak served was just nice to avoid a food coma and there was a side fresh salad for a balanced meal .

Brunch the way I Like it :)

No it's not Christmas yet - but having a leisurely Sunday brunch of this magnitude does make it feel that Christmas is here :)

The best way to celebrate the birthday of a dearest Mother is to shower her with love ( and champagne and lovely sweets and desserts ) .

Mezza9's champagne brunch has a nice variety of western , Chinese , Japanese and thai.

The Fresh seafood boasts of fresh oysters , lobsters and crabs and good grade sashimi .

I particularly like the salad category ( with had lovely white asparagus which was so fresh and sweet ) and the western food category with a delectable truffle risotto served in a parmesan cheese bowl.

The poached eggs Spinach florentine on waffles with caviar prepared by the western kitchen was also very lovely and this is my personal Favourite .

The dessert station was also impressive. I loved how rich and authentic the home made chocolate ice cream was ( one of the best chocolate ice cream I have had ) . The molten chocolate cake was executed very well too ( even though it didn't have the slowly kind of chocolate ) and I liked that it had the right amount of sweetness and a rich chocolate aroma .

Needless to say - the free flow champagne was great too.

Stuffed TO THE BRIM with crab meat, these pillows of deliciousness crumble at the slightest prodding of a fork. They have no fillers as opposed to other places where it's essentially a crab flavoured cake.
Served with a remoulade sauce (similar to tartar), this is the real deal man.

Cheap & Good, Desserts Desserts I squeal with excitement when I find a place serving good desserts . I like anything old school - from an old fashion butter cake to a homemade Apple tart. For something more luxurious , ice cream and waffles will always be my default choice
Hidden Gem, Cheap & Good, Chinese Noodles . Slurp ! I prefer noodles over rice anytime :)
