Fun Izakaya place for a casual drink and meal. They have a good value set course with all you can drink for 2 hours.

Star dish of the night! So glad to be introduced to this place, now I am able to feed my inner gyoza monster on a regular basis.

I am nuts about all kinds of dumplings -potstickers, gyozas, raviolis, mandus you name it.

I have a slight preference for gyozas due to the thinner skins used.

This gyoza is boiled unlike the usual pan fried ones, and served in a light soy sauce, sesame oil & vinegar blend (reminded me of 红油抄手 but not spicy!) topped with a lot of spring onion and sesame. The filling was very wholesome and substantial! I believe the filling has minced pork and shrimp, will verify when I go back to satisfy my craving again 😋

Fried chicken with tartar sauce.

Succulent juicy chicken thigh pieces coated with a nice crispy batter with the most awesome chunky pink tartar sauce. Perfect grub that goes perfectly well with their draught suntory premium malt! 😋

Super cosy joint providing the authentic izakaya experience located at the quayside stretch of Robertson Quay. They have a standard regular menu as well as a daily menu (updated on their fb page everyday)

One of my fav item from the regular menu: shellfish with wasabi. Super refreshing starter!

A homely joint with earnest, friendly service and some great dishes like $10 assorted sashimi (super fresh) and this Champon ($18) - thick ramen noodles, sliced pork and assorted vegetables in a thick, milky and nourishing broth. Love supporting such small businesses.

There is authentic jap food and there is really authentic jap food. With its hand lettered menus and none of the crowd favourites that most Singaporeans are used to, it's easy to guess which group Mikoto belongs to. Don't expect to find the usual curry rice and bento sets. But be prepared for some exquisite dishes with mundane names that will wow you with fabulous presentation and authentic flavour.
