street-styled, tasty (if salty) seafood soup pho with generous servings of vegetables. Also includes their version of “tau pok” and dried squid. Predominantly prawn and dried squid taste in the soup. Good for an experience with a friend if you are craving authenticity but nothing special. stick to Mrs Pho’s for better soup.

Bun Thit Nuong ($11.90) was pretty impressed by this dish. The rice vermicelli was light and not too “sticky”, generous amounts of greens were given (as with all authentic Vietnamese bun dishes), and the grilled pork was excellent. It was not too dry and the char was quite similar to what I had in Vietnam. The only downside was that the service was exceptionally terrible today, the waitress was unfriendly and rude. 1 for 1 available on Burpple Beyond.

Conveniently located near Clarke Quay and open till 10pm, this Vietnamese joint is perfect for Friday nights with the squad. Get your appetite going with the good-for-sharing Tom Nuong ($30.90), featuring sweet, smoky grilled king prawns that goes well with the spicy, tangy homemade sauce. Another popular dish is the Cha Gio ($18.20), crispy fried spring rolls filled with juicy, melt-in-the-mouth minced pork. Don’t forget to dip it in the sweet fish sauce for a flavour boost! For something comforting, the Bun Thit Nuong ($17.90) is a combination of cold rice-vermicelli noodles with barbecued pork and fragrant hints of basil, mint and fish sauce — double up on this dish with your 1-for-1 #BurppleBeyond deal!
