Chanced upon this minimalist cafe and saw pictures of avocado toasts on the glass panels which prompted me to head in to grab one hearty slice for myself.

It's a simple toast with sliced 🥑, topped with chilli flakes, crushed pepper and sea salt flakes and a good drizzle of olive oil. Simplicity at its best!

Will return to try the lunch menu next.

This new kid on the CBD circuit still has some ways to go in terms of getting their act down pat — they were flustered and out of several items when we visited two weeks into their opening — but we foresee a bright future once things are up and running smoothly. Their Avocado Toast ($5.50), a simple but effective combination of lightly warmed sourdough, sliced avocado and a generous sprinkle of chilli pepper, is something we'll be returning for time and again. Add a crumble of feta cheese ($1) for some added oomph. They also serve Acai Bowls (from $6.90), and their salads are quite something. Pacific Rim ($13.50) features a perfectly baked salmon fillet, served atop a punchy quinoa salad and basil aioli. Burpple Tastemaker Xing Wei Chua also had good things to say about New Farm ($12) — moist, slow-cooked chicken served on the same quinoa salad base. Grab a hit of their robust yet well-balanced coffee while you're here, their opening promo sees all espresso-based drinks going at just $2. Pro tip: There are only 10 seats in this cosy nook of a space, so either beat the lunch crowd, or order to go.

This wondrous avocado toast ($5.50 plus $1 for a sprinkle of feta) looks deceivingly simple, but as I have learnt from too many wrong food decisions, the tastiest dishes are often free of unnecessary embellishments. Definitely one of my favourites in Singapore. 👍🏼

Using a blend roasted by Allpress Espresso, the Flat White is well-executed being creamy and smooth with a medium body and an earthy flavour profile with a smoky finish.

Call it bad judgement on my part; never thought how ambitious it could be on my part to actually order this and a Quinoa Bowl with a Flat White altogether.

To be really frank, despite getting myself rather disgustingly bloated I actually quite enjoyed this bowl. There are two sizes available; opted for the Petite bowl which isn't really the most petite other places might serve. A smoothie bowl where dragonfruit is churned with mango, it tastes naturally sweetened and pretty uplifting despite the sweetness. It comes with strawberries, jackfruit and handmade granola which they make by themselves — the highlight being the granola which was nutty, crunchy and pretty balanced in sweetness from what seems to be a caramel-like sort of sweetness. Quite a good smoothie bowl for $6.90!

From mo-ii, a newly-opened cafe at GSH Plaza with a minimalist and clean design scheme serving up Power Protein Bowls (quinoa bowls), avocado toasts and smoothie bowls.

The New Farm comes served with slow-cooked chicken, basil aioli and quinoa salad. Liked how the chicken skin comes crisp here; probably not the healthiest option especially for the health conscious despite the quinoa salad but he's almost akin to having fried chicken given its consistency; the meat tender, juicy and succulent which goes well with the fluffy and light quinoa that was free from gritty, sandy bits flavours with a little tang from the capsicums and the basil aioli. Quite a fitting combination in my opinion, though the competition seems kinda stiff considering The Salad Corner having a takeaway branch just opposite them, making this item (also their cheapest) at $12 look a tad pricey in retrospect.
