Will always get ku chye kueh when I see them so it was no exception here. Filling was flavourful but the skin was slightly thick. Not the best we’ve had.
They also have the classic Soon Kueh, Png Kueh and Yam Kueh which can be ordered in a mix, 5 for $2.50 and $4.50 for 10.
$1.80 for 6 pieces! Skins was moderately soft and chewy, but slightly too thick with less of that oozy brown sugar filling. Would say to skip this!
You will be absolutely bombarded with the assortment of kuehs and traditional treats in this family owned store. I'm not kidding about the variety - nonya kuehs, baos, huat kuehs, baked pastries, dumplings, tartlets and a whole lot of others! Prices are really affordable; nonya kuehs were 5 for $2/$3 depending on the types, a box of ondeh ondeh was $1.80.
My favourites from the bunch I brought home were the peanut ang kukueh, kueh dadar (its the drier kind without much gula melaka in the centre fyi) and yi ba (hainanese coconut kueh). 10/10 would revisit to try the salty tau sar piah, chives dumpling and the baos!
Apart from ang ku kueh, green was coconut and pink was tau sar. Skin was a little too thick and for mini versions, that's more serious.
Taste better than the Hokkien Chang. @SGD12 for 10 pcs. SGD1.30 if buy individually. #bakchang #redbeandumplings #mollys #dumplingsfestival #burpple

Pretty cute how they name their Kueh Ambon here. Apart from the fact that it had been aired out for a while in the display tray hence losing a little of its moistness, the Kueh is still springy and subtly sweet with a hint of durian lingering. For $0.60, a pretty apt dessert on a budget after having a meal at Hainanese Village Food Centre.
