Tangy yet still creamy and sweet. Slight refreshing taste of mint. Definitely worth the hype! I will be back to try more flavours

🦋 Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato 🦋

A short walk away from Bugis / Haji Lane, situated around by a number of cafe shops which includes @twentygrammes @dimsumhaussg. Loving the minimalist space and interior, really a cozy environment if you’d like to hang around with your friends!

As usual, opt for the all time favourite roasted pistachio and I must say this is comparable with @dopadopa.sg & I love them both (can’t decide between them) the smell of the home-made waffles is irresistible toooo!! 🥰🥰

🔹Single Scoop - $4.90
🔹Premium Scoop + $1

Love the flavour combinations and options here! We tried the brown butter sage and burnt white chocolate. Safe to say both were pretty good - not too sweet and had a deep burnt caramel flavour with brown butter sage tasting a bit mild. Their options like chocolate sorbet, coconut pandan, ispahan also sounded pretty interesting. Will be back to try more!

Finally headed bck for ice cream or gelato during Christmas Day and finally tried burnt white chocolate from people's post and also soursop mint ice cream recommended by my sister. I felt that burnt white chocolate got that strong coffee or caramel (cannot differentiate between) aftertaste and also milky aftertaste. But soursop mint (premium - $1) was quite refreshing and cool ice cream tbh and my sister did wanted to get a pint of it.

Priced at a reasonable $5.90, this gelato was 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸. Every single mouthful was tremendously creamy, with an extremely earthy and pronounced notes of Sage and ending off with a sweet savoury brown butter aftertaste. I was particularly impressed at how they managed to lock in so much brown butter flavour, especially in contrast to the numerous other disappointing brown butter bakes other bakeries have attempted to offer. It was remarked that the gelato had a textural contrast as well, likely due to the bits of sage which were chewable. I am not entirely sure if Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato invented this flavour, but simply replicating it to such a fine degree is in itself the work of a genius. Also, just like that know-it-all who consistently goes above and beyond in delivering ‘A+’ worthy assignments making you wonder why he is even in school, Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato may have just made the best cone to complement their gelato. Made with French butter, you can actually taste the difference as it was incredibly aromatic and buttery. Notwithstanding the fact that I am not a huge ice-cream or gelato fan to start with, the Brown Butter Sage easily topped my list of all the gelatos I have ever had. Now, if only they were in a more accessible location…
Price: 7/10 (I’m pretty sure it is standard price for gelato in Singapore)
Taste: 10/10 (Yes, all of us LOVED it)
Ambience: NA
Service: NA
Overall: 10/10 (MUST TRY!)
