Launched on 17 January, you can now get the Taiwanese braised pork rice with housemade preserved vegetables at all of their outlets at JEM, ION Orchard and SingPost Centre. Available as a rice set from $10.60, the braised pork rice set comes with either 3 pieces of chicken nuggets, 2 pieces of crispy chicken, 3 pieces of chicken wings, 1 juicy thigh cutlet or sweet potato fries, together with an egg-drop soup and soft drink. You can even upgrade your drink at $1.90 to the Monga’s Fruit Tea of Roselle Tea with Rainbow Jelly or Lime Tea with Rainbow Jelly.

The braised pork belly that has been seasoned and cooked to an almost gelatinous texture, with the perfect fat to meat ratio, sits on a bed of fluffy Japanese pearl rice. Accompanying it are the onsen egg, lettuce and housemade preserved vegetables, the latter with a tangy flavour to cut through the fattiness of the pork belly. Come March this year, there will also be a new item added into the menu, a fusion dish of Taiwanese Braised Pork with Mashed Potatoes that is available as an ala carte order at $5.90.

Besides their popular fried chicken cutlet, Monga has launched the world’s first Prawn Mee Sua ($7.90) that also contains fish maw slices and assorted mushrooms cooked in it, with a dash of chilli sauce and black vinegar added for that extra oomph. Pairing with the Prawn Mee Sua is a combo with the newly launched Monga Juicy Chicken Thigh Chee-z, priced at $12.90.

Besides the combo deal, you can also get the ala carte order of the Monga Juicy Chicken Thigh Cutlet from $9.90 in three flavours of The King, Hot Chick and Chee-z Signature ($11.90). What’s difference with this fried chicken is that instead of the regular thick chicken breast meat, what you will be getting is a thick juicy thigh cutlet.

Another combo deal that you can pair with the Prawn Mee Sua is the Crispy Chicken Wings ($9.90) or you can get the wings as an ala carte order of $3.90 with 10 pieces. These wings come in either The King (salt and pepper seasoning) and Hot Chick (chilli paprika powder) flavour.

Was very pleasantly surprised that the rice was chicken rice!! Their fried chicken is really v tasty and well fried!!

Do try their chicken nugget, it’s hugeeeeeee. Good taiwanese chicken chop and other small bites. Love the acar side dish, something different compared to other fried chicken shop. The shop is quite small, it is recommended to pack instead of eat in.

Highly-raved fried chicken in Singapore. One bit and you can tell the difference between this and other Taiwanese fried chicken.

Monday fried chicken is meaty and less oily. Even though it is more expensive than its counterparts, I would say this is more value for money :)
