I can't even begin to describe how beautifully the albacore was done. It was meaty, juicy, and incredibly tasty. And the shaved parmesan was *chef's kiss*

Definitely a hidden gem. I'm surprised it's not crowded because it definitely should be!

I'm blown away and will be dreaming about the food until I come back again.

Unagi Meshi - $24
Big slab of grilled unagi placed on top of spice mixed rice, which is rather flavourful! The side comes with ramen egg & surprisingly those childhood crackers! I do enjoy the crunch element in this dish. Available with Burpple Beyond

mono izakaya really puts in so much effort into preparing every dish they serve! we had the
πŸ‘πŸ» grilled albacore tuna ($24) β€” so glad we got two of these. the tuna was extremely juicy and was coated with a layer of parmesan. never had tuna this way, i’ve been missing out! the fermented tomatoes also took me to a whole new dimension lol
πŸ‘πŸ» unagi meshi ($24) β€” unagi was well-cooked and i enjoyed the spice mix rice, a nice deviation from the regular sushi rice in most dons
πŸ‘πŸ» aburi bossam ($22) β€” kind of like a gyudon but with unique espresso miso soy glaze which was sweet and savoury all at once

really worth it with burpple 1 for 1 too :)

Mono Izakaya is the night time alter ego of Gather Misfits, which has a nice selection of bottled coffees and teas. An izakaya that specialises in aged fish & meat dishes, you can expect rice bowls served with Bulgogi Duck ($18), Unagi Meshi ($24) and Aburi Bossam ($22) amongst others. If you're up for a surprise, use your other deal for their Omakase (Raw Experience) ($60), which sees a sashimi course, 5 kinds of nigiri, desserts and sake.

Mono is right opposite Ng Ah Sio at the end of Rangoon Road. Nice quiet place that’s good for a date.

Had unagi as a main, food was good. Atmosphere was cozy, service staff was friendly. Worth the travel.
