You have probably seen more than one foodie rave about Mother Dough’s bakes. Although we are late to the game, we finally had the chance to head down to try them for ourselves! This was a pre-lunch snack so we didn’t manage to order as much as we would have wanted :(

You know we simply cannot resist any dish with scrambled eggs. This pastry featured a soft and creamy layer of eggs that beautifully oozed out of that cross section. They were generous with the peas, which made the unique sweetness of the peas really prominent (which some may not fancy). The creme fraiche made the pastry really light, and the flakey danish was great for scooping up the eggs.

Among the overwhelming selection of pastries and croissants, the garlic twist caught our eye. After all, it was a pretty croissant twist covered in sesame seeds and shaved parm. This was medley of flavours - the nuttiness from the sesame seeds, saltiness from the cheese, butteriness from the pastry, and sweetness from the hot honey - were all combined together in this savoury delight!

This is our first time at @motherdoughbakery and this is definitely not our last. We will be back for their excellent cafe vibes and interesting drink menu, and to try the 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮 and 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲 before they’re gone!

- 3 cheese blend was earthy, neither the sharp cheddar kind nor the stinky sort.
- Flavour grew on me with more bites, slowly tasting like a garlic bread 🥖
- Flatbread was similar to a naan, I’m glad to find myself liking their bread too! [7/10]

- Malted brown butter cake was very moist, strong nuttiness like Ferrero Rocher with toasted hazelnuts!
- Hints of saltiness made it less surfeiting but still quite sweet for me due to the praline cream, would probably appreciate a more intense dark chocolate glaze 🍫 [7.5/10]

- Unique incorporation of a cake layer in the middle, but danish itself wasn’t crisp and a little soggy, felt it was more like a cake overall.
- Peach compote was refreshingly sweet and ripe soft 🍑 [5.5/10]
