The red peppers were delicious, roasty and soft. Egg custard was soft but not overly eggy; the top part had a savoury kick from the cheese and was great! The flaky pie crust however, could have been more crisp, but I liked that the base was chonky and buttery. Also, they gave a generous fat slice that was huuuge!

This was incredibly soft and fluffy! Got it shortly after they brought it out of the oven so it was warm, yum. Light on the palate and with a nice kick of saltiness from the sea salt. Couldn’t really taste the garlic oil but that’s fine, I liked whatever I was tasting already :)

A pimped out sticky bun - this was good! On the expensive side, but the bun was weighty and topped with plenty of nuts. The glazed hazelnuts were awesome, super crunchy and fresh tasting

I knew I could leave any diet plans I loftily have in mind (and hardly act upon 😂), at the door after stepping into Mother Dough. Because even the above 2 left over bakes were tempting enough (time check: 4pm on a Saturday). I first gave the chocolate brownie a shot and it proved itself as a confident square with hard crisp crust and a rich dense gooey like center; truly the gold standard of real brownies.
When we ordered the lemon drizzle it was an equally indulgent, adequately moist butter cake with lemon zest and an icing sugar coat.
Thankfully I shared the 2 with my mother aka partner in crime and we preferred the decadent brownie with a generous scoop of nuts evenly spread in the cake. The yellow cake was not as evenly mixed with jolts of zest in some bites and an absence in others.
I was here for the croissants and shall be back for the croissants.

This is their February weekend toastie ($14) and consists of two slices of sourdough, one spread with cheese and the other with homemade tomato chilli jam, sandwiching some arugula.

Now I love my sourdough generously buttered and toasted as much as the person next door, but the sandwich was a little too greasy for me with the cheese and butter. I loved the chilli jam though. Sweet and mildly spicy, it went perfectly with the sharpness of the cheese.

I wasn't too impressed by the sourdough though, it's got a nice texture but hmm. I feel like I have had better 🤔 Maybe I just prefer a denser, more chewy sourdough.
