Texture was good, butterscotch sauce was on point as well. Nothing too special though

A pimped out sticky bun - this was good! On the expensive side, but the bun was weighty and topped with plenty of nuts. The glazed hazelnuts were awesome, super crunchy and fresh tasting

I knew I could leave any diet plans I loftily have in mind (and hardly act upon 😂), at the door after stepping into Mother Dough. Because even the above 2 left over bakes were tempting enough (time check: 4pm on a Saturday). I first gave the chocolate brownie a shot and it proved itself as a confident square with hard crisp crust and a rich dense gooey like center; truly the gold standard of real brownies.
When we ordered the lemon drizzle it was an equally indulgent, adequately moist butter cake with lemon zest and an icing sugar coat.
Thankfully I shared the 2 with my mother aka partner in crime and we preferred the decadent brownie with a generous scoop of nuts evenly spread in the cake. The yellow cake was not as evenly mixed with jolts of zest in some bites and an absence in others.
I was here for the croissants and shall be back for the croissants.

This is their February weekend toastie ($14) and consists of two slices of sourdough, one spread with cheese and the other with homemade tomato chilli jam, sandwiching some arugula.

Now I love my sourdough generously buttered and toasted as much as the person next door, but the sandwich was a little too greasy for me with the cheese and butter. I loved the chilli jam though. Sweet and mildly spicy, it went perfectly with the sharpness of the cheese.

I wasn't too impressed by the sourdough though, it's got a nice texture but hmm. I feel like I have had better 🤔 Maybe I just prefer a denser, more chewy sourdough.

This glorious pastry appeared from the kitchen just as I had finished ordering and I immediately squealed and changed my order to include it. It literally was fresh out of the oven, I could see the steam escaping as I tore into it.

I don't use the words 'worth every calorie' lightly. But this bun is worthy of The Last Supper. It is just SO fluffy and pillowy-soft, the caramel is warm and gooey and literally drips down the sides of the bun. The dough is lightly flavored with cinnamon and basted with butter, so super decadent and rich. And the pecans give that crunch and earthiness to break up that sweetness.

Goodness gracious me. I'd literally come back and queue for twice as long just for this. (the queue is reallyyyyy long when I went there on a weekend afternoon).

Oof these were great! Soft & fluffy with good crunch from the cinnamon-sugared pecans, it was very satisfying :)
