Interestingly, they werenโ€™t as packed as some others although we felt they were as good, if not better than some.
We liked that their appetisers were priced reasonably and came in small portions so we could try more varied dishes. We enjoyed what we had, grilled prawn, crab croquettes and especially the grilled octopus that was on point.
We picked their spiced glazed pork belly which was spectacular and yummy good, flavourful and great meat-fats proportions that was pleasant to enjoy.
There were more appealing sounding items on their mains, pasta and risotto list for a sumptuous meal. Similarly for their appetisers that we liked. But we were glad we saved space for dessert as the red wine poached pear we had was really memorable to end with.
We would recommend to wine and dine here after having some of their cocktails and absolutely loving them. Have a little chat with Mr Star who may concoct some special mix in your drinks if youโ€™re not going for the wine.
The interior of @mpiresingapore was chic and cosy, for a formal date or comfortable gathering. The final highlight: members of @burpplebeyond would be delighted to enjoy the incredible valuable deals here. So sharing this good find, hopefully not at the expense of being harder to get a table next time.

The tomato-based Seafood Risotto ($24) from Mpire comes with octopus, tiger prawns, mussels and crabmeat, and I must say that the taste and texture are on point. The risotto is flavourful, packed with umami and the seafood is chunky and fresh. Although the portion is not big, Iโ€™m not complaining given that there is an one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond:) Wouldnโ€™t mind returning to try out the other items on the menu!

A recent addition to the food scene at Amoy Street is @mpiresingapore, a western-fusion dine & bar serving mouthwatering mains that complement their array of booze. You can take a tour in their very own private chiller room where they store their collection of wine in a well-controlled environment ๐Ÿคฉ.

What stood out to me most was their entire chunk of beef cheek burgundy. Its fork-tender red wine-braised meat fell apart upon contact and was nicely seasoned. Paired with a pile of creamy mash and you will have that perfect main course that can satisfy anyone!

For classy yet affordable western fare in the CBD, look to this diner cum bar along Amoy Street. On mains, put these must-orders on your list: the tender Beef Cheek Burgundy ($28) and the crispy Pan-Seared Barramundi ($24) that comes with mash, pearl tomatoes and chimichurri sauce. Kick back and chill with an assortment of craft beers on tap, including Little Creatures, Black Cab Stout, London Pride and Stella Artois.

๐Ÿฅ™ For appetizers, we ordered the Cream of Mushrooms ($10), Citrus Prawns ($14) and Roasted Portobello & Asparagus ($12). Totally recommend the fresh big Citrus prawns and the cream of mushroom (commendable cos of their home-made thick assorted mushrooms soup!!) However, the Portobello mushroom was extremely salty in our opinion and surprisingly didnโ€™t go that well with the cheese sauce although the fry on the asparagus was alright. ๐Ÿฅ˜ For mains, we decided to go with the Beef Cheek Burgundy ($28) and Pan Seared Barramundi ($24). Nothing much to pinpoint on the mains, it was fairly decent ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I also paired my tender beef cheek with their Santa Luz Alba (red wine, $10)๐Ÿท๐Ÿ’ฏ. Not forgetting that they also serve burgers, pastas and other mains ranging from $16 to $22! ๐ŸปChill with their cool craft beers straight from the tap, this includes Little Creatures, Black Cab Stout, London Pride, Stella Artois and Hoegaarden. Also, do check out their curated private wine cellar where you can head inside and find something you like ๐Ÿ˜‰
