Mr.Duck opens till late. So this is an excellent supper or late dinner spot.

Had the braised meat set, the braised pork belly was damn tender. Surprising that a shop called Mr.Duck serves up such excellent pork.

The chilli also damn shiok.

I wanted the full works & lots of variety, so I ordered Mr Duck’s Special Set Meal ($6.50 nett). This comes with a bowl of yam rice & a variety of ingredients. The rice is flavourful, & not overcooked & mushy.

Chilli is slightly sweet, with the anchovies inside giving it a nice texture, while not making it too gritty. It packs a great punch that doesn’t kill you - not overly chock full of heat like you were licking fire. I patted a little bit of this chilli onto almost every spoonful of food that I scooped..

The duck meat is thinly sliced & deboned, the latter of which is a HUGE plus for me. But alas, the quantity is really quite sad; I would’ve liked for more meat, less quantity of other ingredients - preserved veggies, hard boiled egg, braised peanuts & tau pok.

The soup is pleasantly herbal with a tinge of sweetness. Easy to drink! I actually wished I had a larger bowl. It’s the kind of soup that you want to drink as your last mouthful, so the flavour lingers thereafter.

Despite the shortcomings in the meat, this was still a tasty meal & I’d come back to this stall. They also serve kuay chup, which I've heard is delicious. Maybe I’ll try that next.

Other options in coffeeshop - which I believe is popular - include Teochew noodles, oyster omelette, satay bee hoon, ngor hiang, pork porridge…

Decided to have the kway chap here for breakfast recently after walking past this stall so many times on my way to work. The kway chap was pretty good overall - the kway was not clumpy, and the soup had a clean herbaceous taste! As for the ingredients, they were tasty and parts like the intestines were thoroughly cleaned so there’s no smell! They are actually famous for their duck rice, so will try that next time!

Strong taste of herbal on their duck rice. Mr Duck serves Kwap Chap also. $4

Both are S$6, coming to a total of S$12.

Duck Rice set comes with herbal duck soup, yam rice, a smoky savoury chilli sauce, and an assortment of items including braised duck meat, fish cake, braised peanuts, tofu, half a braised egg and a few slices of cucumber.

Other Burpplers seem to have gotten salted vegetables, but I guess they removed that from the set.

Duck Kway Chap Set comes with Kway topped with fried shallots and Cilantro, a sour and slightly sweet chili, and the Chap assortment containing duck meat, fish cakes, braised pork belly, braised tau pok, tofu, some pork intestines and half a braised egg.

In general, everything is well cooked and there is a good assortment. Chili goes very well with the dishes, and is the highlight of the meal along with the fragrant yam rice. There is more to be desired, however, from the duck and egg in terms of both texture and flavour.

The stall also sells other non typical duck rice items like sesame chicken, Bak kut Teh, pig trotters. There are 2 negative reviews on hungrygowhere, but I do believe those are anomalies.
