Went for the medium sized choice with crayfish instead of lobster as we were curious about the taste of the noodles itself. Despite the seafood that were fresh, the dish didn't satisfy. The stock used to cook the noodles lacked the richness and hence it couldn't match up compared to some other traditional Hokkien mee stalls around. Quite a pity although it was IG-worthy.

How can you resist ordering this plate of Hokkien mee that came with lard and that seductive crayfish?

A lot of potential in this dish, but I find it poorly executed. You would expect a stronger gravy, especially more so that they have crayfish in addition to prawns. The gravy was however limp, and not infused into the noodles.

If only my favourite Hokkien mee, Nam Sin at Old Airport, wouldn't be closed all the time when the visit. I'm still looking for a good Hokkien mee in the North or Northeast, besides Tian Tian Lai. Maybe the one at ABC?

Came with huge expectation but was let down by the not so flavorful noodles. However, those was made up by the fresh seafood and crispy pork lards which are the essentials in Hokkien Mee. I am sure they will improve as time goes by. Worth a try if you are a Hokkien Mee fanatic. 😋

This giant plate of Crayfish Prawn Hokkien Mee ($15) looked promising, but thought a little more work could be done flavour-wise. The stock wasn't as rich as I'd like and would've preferred if there was slightly more of that distinct wokhei-shiokness. Still a comforting option especially with the rain. Flesh of the crayfish was succulent and easily pulled from the shell.

Unlike the usual hokkien mee stalls, Mr Prawnie serves up theirs studded with a variety of seafood. This $15 plate has clams, big prawns and crayfish. It looked really promising but felt quite one dimensional in taste, lacking the familiar smoky wok hei and charred-ness. Was also hoping for a stronger seafood tasting base! That said, the crayfish was fresh, tender and came off its shell very cleanly.

You can also get the normal Big Prawn Fried Hokkien Mee for $5/$8 and the Flower Crab Big Prawn Fried Hokkien Mee for $20.

Fresh Lobster And Big Prawn, Sweet Seafood Tasted, The Chilli goes very well with the noodle. Will definitely back again.
