Generous bowl of beef broth filled with rice noodles, slices of Black Angus Rib Eye and Thai basil leaves accompanied with birds eye Chili infused fish sauce. The broth was made out of strong beef stock but the meet was slightly over cooked when it arrived on my table. RM30+ per serving.

A change from the usual squid ink pasta. It comes with soft shell crab too.

So you get squid ink rice fried with chopped long beans. The rice was a bit mushy for me. It also doesn’t have much taste, probably needs to be eaten together with the soft shell crab. There was also a fried egg, which wasn’t the usual type that you get. This one is kinda tiny. Not sure I would have this a 2nd time.

This is RM28.

The talented team behind Kenny Hills Bakers take on Vietnamese, Thai and French-inspired cooking in this new stylish concept at Republik. Lunch specials (from 11am to 3pm) range from elevated classics from the Nam Signature Roast Duck Rice (RM28) to the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi (RM24) and the no-fail Nam Beef Pho (from RM30) with choice of black Angus ribeye or beef short ribs. The night brings out French flavours that are great for sharing — think Foie Gras Parfait (RM46) and a tender Tamarind Braised Beef Cheeks (RM58) served with kale and orange and carrot puree. End it all off on a sweet note with their traditional Crepe Suzette (RM28) doused in caramelised orange butter and housemade vanilla ice cream.

Another favourite of the night! This classic French dessert can do no wrong, and it’s executed so well here. While I’m personally not a fan of anything orange-flavoured, I enjoyed this. Especially the house made vanilla ice cream.

Our favourite dish of the night! Crispy yet tender eggplant is coated in a delicious sticky soy-glazed marinade (I think) that reminds me of Korean fried chicken – in all the best ways! Highly addictive.

I don’t get why the food here is so expensive lol but anyway, this beef dish is pretty yummy. Super tender and salty in all the right ways. Especially enjoyed the kale.
