A fan of NamNam?! Enjoy the same portion but with lower prices at the Vietnamese pho chain’s express concept - NamNam GO!

Housed within a repurposed caravan stall, the spin-off provides a healthy, fuss-free option for ravenous diners in a rush at the graffiti-splashed traditional-meets-modern gastropark Timbre+ (One-north). Perfect for those, like me who just loves and need their daily intake of rice, NamNam GO! is not just about phos and bahn mis as you can choose from a choice of three fragrant rice options (Lemon Grass-chilli Chicken, Sauteed Pork & Prawns and Tilapia Fillet with Tomato-Tumeric Sauce). Exclusive to the outlet, the tantalising staple available for both lunch and dinner, was as its name suggest really fragrant and substantial. At $8.90, we had the Sauteed Pork & Prawns with Viet Fragrant Rice. Topped with a wobbly egg, do give it a good mix to coat the rice and meat in all its oozy, yolky glory. The pork was flavourful, chunky and not too dry. Fresh and tender, the shrimps too was nicely sautéed and got a zing of spice.

A long overdue post, thank you Huifen for hosting us and NamNam Noodle Bar for feeding us, as well as Burpple for the invite!

On top of the standard tangy dipping sauce of pork balls and grilled pork, the rice vermicelli was served with fried prawn roll too! Though the dipping sauce was rather sweet for my liking, this might be less overwhelming and more well-liked by some people as compared to my usual bun cha spot. However, please note that at the Timbre+ outlet, bun cha is only available for dinner!

brings you the best of NamNam (same portion size, at a lower price) and some exclusive dishes not found at the Noodle Bars. The Bun Cha Ha Noi pictured here is one of those dishes. Made famous by Obama and Anthony Bourdain, Bun Cha is a humble Vietnamese dish consisting of thick rice vermicelli, herbs and vegetables, pork belly, meatballs and a dipping sauce. Here at NamNam Go!, the Bun Cha comes with a Mekong prawn roll, a generous serving of grilled pork belly that is smokey, tender and very tasty; meatballs that also have a char and a crust on them, imparting some of that smokiness to the dipping sauce that contains peanuts and pickled vegetables which give some crunch and acidity to every mouthful. And even though you get an umami hit in every bite, because no MSG is used in the cooking, you actually would not feel the irritation at the back of your throat after the meal. I do not know about you, but that is a major plus point!
If you are working around the area, this, and the rest of NamNam Go!'s offerings would make you very, very happy at lunch while saving you some dough at the same time.
Thanks to @ohfantabulous from @namnamnoodlebar for taking such great care of us and @burpple for the invite.

Introduced to them by French during colonial period in Vietnam. Nowadays, it was quite common in Singapore too.

This version from Nam Nam Go! had cream cheese spread across the baguette, topped with well marinated pork and crunchy vege shreds. Love the hints of lemongrass from the meat but I felt flavour can be stronger.

Did you know what President Obama ate with Anthony Bourdain in Hanoi? It was the viral $6 meal, where President Obama drank Hanoi beers and ate bun cha - a traditional Hanoi dish that involves sweet yellow broth with vermicelli rice noodles, herbs, with grilled pork patties and grilled pork slices.

This is Nam Nam's bun cha, which came with pork done two ways and served alongside a Mekong prawn roll. Broth was flavourful but aren't salty, while the pork was naturally sweet without gaminess. This was my favourite dish among the entire spread we had.

This is taken during a tasting.
