This ramen shop specialises in their Black Garlic Ramen, and its pretty satisfying. The Black Garlic Tonkutsu Ramen ($10.80/12) was smoky, the soup was thick enough and the black garlic oil gave it extra umami flavour. Definitely an option to consider while you're in town!

Reg portion and Japan portion avail. The diff is just the noodle portion

Go for their hard noodles texture, it's q on point. Soft wasn't as good

4 levels of spice, we got 3 and it hits you immediately, thankfully it's not ridiculously hot. Level 3 broth is abit difficult to drink alr. This was also okay, if abit oily at the top

Their signature tonkotsu w all toppings.

Could do with a bit more negi but otherwise everything was okay

It costs $12.70 for the regular size (which is actually smaller than a normal portion) and $14.10 for Japan size after GST and service charge. The chasu is too thin and tasted normal. the broth is very rich (which might be too rich for some) but it can be offset by adding copious amounts of chili flakes/oil. noodles were alright but not exceptional. overall, a decent place to have ramen in this area for its price.

Nantsuttei Ramen has been at Orchard Central for quite some time, and if the full table of Japanese businessmen near us was anything to go by, pretty legit too! Nothing groundbreaking here, but the tasty, thick broth served with a thick slice of cha siew makes for a pretty satisfying lunch. I got the negi version as well, which came with a mountain of sliced welsh onions.
