@mrburger159 Chinese name (堡大人)is a fun play on the name of Justice Bao, an old TV drama from way back when. Their food is equally whimsical, with Ramly burger being their chief offering, supported by a cast of other burgers encompassing an American Style Wagyu Beef Burger, Thai Style Chicken Burger, Japanese Fish Burger, and a China Mala Chicken Burger.⠀⠀

The Japanese Fish Burger is slightly simpler but no less savoury, with a pair of crunchy battered fish fillets sauced up with wasabi mayo, garnished with a slice of American cheese and lettuce, and sandwiched between two halves of a bun. The fish fillets are quite dense, as a meaty fish was used in this fillet, and the briny taste is notable. The wasabi mayo comes in clutch here, wiping out the naturally fishy taste of the fillets with its nose tingling heat and lubricating everything with its creaminess. The cheese should’ve been melted more, but it bound everything together quite well and added an extra saltiness.⠀

Mr Burger doesn’t cook up the best burgers, but their innovative burgers are deeply satisfying nonetheless. And for that reason, I’ll be back.

Of course, it would be remiss of me to skip Mr Burger’s signature Ramly Burger, so I ordered up a Chicken Ramly Set for just $6.90. All the classic components of the Ramly were present & accounted for, starting with the thin mystery meat patties encased in a thin omelette blanket, and copiously sauced with mayonnaise, sweet chilli sauce & a touch of black pepper sauce. However, Mr Burger has upgraded the Ramly by adding in crunchy shredded cabbage, which provides a sorely needed crunchy contrast to the soft & floppy textures of everything else. Oh, did I mention that it’s copiously sauced to the socks?⠀

Went to CHC a few weeks ago and ordered the breakfast slider set meal and Dirty Taters with my friends!😄 There is a lunch promo ongoing during weekdays which is only $9.99 per set (usual price $10.90)😇 Dirty taters were $9.90.

Overall ratings 9/10! Tried the Medium spice level this time and it was pretty mild to me (tried Hot previouly and was lowkey dying)😅 The patty was super juicy and the eggs were fluffy😍 Though its a slider, its also super filling😨 Would definitely head back again to try other sliders!!

Went to CHC last week and ordered a Chix Cordon Bleu, Soul Slider, Dirty Taters, and Vanilla Milkshake! (~$45/2pax)😋 Regretted ordering the Hot for the burgers and should have just went with medium instead... It was too damn spicy even for a spicy lover😭

Overall ratings 8/10! The milkshake and dirty taters were great and would definitely ordered the burgers in medium spice next time🤧

Personally am a fan of Taiwanese Sausage, so this Original and Black Pepper one was a pretty enjoyable side for me. Black pepper sauce was actly quite sweet, and they have wasabi/ mala flavoured ones for those who're interested!

Liked that it was sweet and spicy, and pretty flavourful too. Defo great for sharing!

If you're a fan of nachos cheese, this is the kind of cheese you're getting here. Pretty sinful treat, although I kinda expected the chicken to be even more tender.

You can also opt for their Oriental Sauce - which is similar to brown sauce that's made with mushrooms (?), and was slightly sweet with a light garlic flavour.

You get to choose between chicken/ beef patty, and I've to say their beef patty is pretty well-seasoned, as you'd expect from Ramly Burgers! The patty is not the most tender for sure, although patty wrapped in a layer of egg omelette, topped with cabbage, onion, sliced cheese just sounds tempting already. Not to forget the sinful black pepper sauce, chilli and mayo that just makes a Ramly Burger exactly what it is. Tbh kinda pricey considering you could get this at half the price at a Pasar Malam!

The portion was rather big for a kebab. Extremely juicy and tender, the pieces of smoky chicken thigh were well-marinated with the right balance between fat and meat. Was delightfully surprised to bite into large cubes of soft stewed potatoes in between the meat which combined with the sauce very well!! 🤤 Not forgetting the chewy wrap itself which didn’t turn soggy and absorbed the flavourful sauce too! The generous serving of greens and carrots were very fresh and crunchy as well which gave a refreshing bite. Never a fan of coriander, but I finished EVERY leaf of it because it’s super yums, everything just came together!

Good Luck Beerhouse has also given everyone a compelling reason to day drink on Sunday: you get two piece of dim sum free with every beer purchased. That’s right, get a lil free snack with every pint? Oh now you’re speaking my love language. After careful deliberation and half a pint of beer, I decided on the classic har gow. These steamed prawn dumplings were more than decent, with a passably thin dumpling skin carrying the plump & snappy shrimp within. It’s a bit bland by default, so dip these prawn parcels into the chili sauce on the side and wash it down with a refreshing beer.

The last type of cuisine that anyone would expect a craft beer pub to serve is dim sum, but that’s exactly what @goodluckbeerhouse is serving up with a cold frothy pint. Sure, they probably buy their dim sum off a supplier, considering that they’re in the beer business and not the dim sum business. However, the guy/gal in charge of sourcing their dim sum has decently good taste, as the Glutinous Leaf Rice ($5++) impressed me.⠀

Better known as a lotus leaf glutinous rice, this is a pretty big boi, so the five bucks doesn’t quite hurt as much. The rice has an intensely chewy & sticky texture reminiscent of mochi, and the treasures buried within are downright delicious. The tasty minced chicken in a sauce blessed the entire slab of rice with its savoury qualities, while the Chinese mushroom within added an enjoyable bouncy texture and a good deal of earthy flavours to the glutinous rice.
