Finally trying out the legendary Lorong 9 Famous Beef Kway Teow food!

I have actually been wanting to try this for the longest time (urm 20 years? LOL)! But I was not sure earlier if they had non-beef hor fan! Since most of google map photos then (super many years ago) mainly featured their beef hor fan only!

But yes, there is NON BEEF OPTIONS! You can get the black bean sauce hor fan in sliced fish or seafood option too! All for $8 per plate!

The black bean sauce has alot of spicy red chilli padi too, so it was quite spicy! But 10/10 shiok! Will recommend all to try out this tze char stall!

They also have dried kway teow version! Will be back to try this next time!

Yong He is one of the better tao hui I had.

The soya bean drink was fairly thick and tasted more like beancurd than those I drink regularly at hawker centres nearby.

Tao hui was rather filling. Thick texture.

I actually like the beancurd drink more than then the beancurd.

You tiao was hot & crispy

Some items really stand out like the fried carrot cake (super crispy outside while inside soft), fried chicken feet also quite special ( braised n deep fried till crispy) and deep fried BBQ pork bun.
The items that normal is the porridge and siew mai.

Has a slight charred taste, but nothing fantastic

Century egg and minced pork porridge garnished with scallions and fried shallots. The century egg here does not come with a strong pungent which may appeal to more people while the addition of fried shallots does bring some texture and fragrance to the dish 》$3

A dim sum place that runs 24 hours for the owls who crave dim sum late at night. Although the dim sum here isn’t the best, they are pretty affordable with a wide range of items on the menu.

The saltish beancurd is like a savoury version of a classic beancurd without the syrup but topped with bits of stewed minced pork, preserved vegetables and spring onions in a soya sauce mix. Although it may seem weird, it did not taste as bad as I thought and instead turned out quite appetising.

The texture of the toasted bun with pork floss and egg (烧饼) was fluffy and doughy which makes it quite filling when added with egg and savoury pork floss. The 烧饼 was served warm with a comforting and chewy bite. I also added a cup of soya milk but it somehow fell short of expectations. It was not thick in texture and almost tasteless.

Yong He is a place to check out for late-night snacks but I will not purposely make a trip back unless I am nearby and have no other places to go.

Back in old days, people would come here for their famous beef horfun. Over the years, it seems like getting lesser and lesser supports; with many people saying their consistency has fallen.

Came on weekend lunch time, and surprisingly I’m the only customer in the shop; with all the seats are left empty.

The price also increased throughout the years, with the smallest plate priced at $8 now. I would say the portion is definitely smaller as compared to the past (based on those photos I found online).

Because I never been here before, so I couldn’t compare the taste with their past. But it is still taste wok hey enough for me. Their beef slices are tender and drenched in thick gravy. But I felt it taste a bit too salty for me.

Warm soya bean @ $1.60

Let's just say we alr knew it wasnt gonna be good and these met expectations. But we wanted a small bite around that area and these fit the requirement so we went ahead.

The soya bean was totally tasteless and we added sugar that was on the table into it, then it was more bearable.
The scallion pancake was quite normal and also rather oily.
