Loved that this was a nice hearty meal! Though the portion may look small, the curry comes chocked with potatoes, cauliflower, tomatoes and a pretty huge piece of crispy soft shell crab in the centre of it all 🤤🤤 The bread was nicely toasted and perfect for soaking up the curry goodness! Only gripe was that the curry was a little sour, but still a pretty good dish overall! Ambience is nice and quaint and prices are nett? Really worth with Burpple’s 1-for-1, except that it’s a pretty far walk from Harbourfront.

Simple Italian tomato based pasta with large bacon slices, onions & parmesan on the top. The comfort food I’m looking for after a long day at work

Barrio (Spanish for “quarter” or “neighbourhood”) serves up classic Mexican street food flavours all over the little melting pot of cultures that is Singapore. Universally and generally speaking, Mexican cuisine has to be loved for its use of hearty and zingy ingredients, but while this is true, the replication of authentic Mexican street food does not cease to be a challenge for most chain restaurants such as Barrio. While some may argue, one has to remember that just like the unique styles of ramen available over different regions of Japan, no two regions of the vibrant country of Mexico will have the same tacos, or the same quesadillas in their own respect. Dinner at the colourful sideshow-esque restaurant featured dishes like their Pork Carnitas Rice Bowl ($15) and a rich sharing portion of Beef Barbacoa ($26), which had a wonderfully tender slow-cooked beef brisket. Should be a fun fact to note that like every other food and beverages establishments, they do not allow Krispy Kreme doughnuts to be passed around the table as an additional sharing dish.

10% off eatigo at usual dinner time. Steak was on a special offer thing, not on the menu. service was good and ambience lovely! definitely worth the price, since you get such a good environment + service + food

with 10% off, total was ~$40+

Fresh blended strawberry and topped with slightly salted cheese. We had the first mouth through the small opening and i can’t really taste anything but the cheese. I would have prefer the cheese tea over at another famous shop tho. The strawberry does not goes really well with the cheese on top, even after we try stirring and mixed together.

Fruity drink with all the citrus. Very refreshing but a tad too sweet, will ask for less sugar on my next visit!

This new addition which is the Curry Assam Tiger Prawn is what a curry bowl should taste like! Rich with coconut milk, thick, spicy, zesty and with the addition of tiger prawns, vegetables and Assam, it’s helps to round off the taste and adds some complexity! The tang hoon in it is a bonus as you can scoop it and have it as part of the meal! All in all, this is indeed one of the best Curry dishes I’ve tried!

But first, you gotta link a credit card. I tried it and it was really fast!
2) Skip the wait and order Takeaway in advance. You even get to choose from which FoodRepublic outlets and the stall and food item. How convenient!

At first, I was hesitant using the app because I’m not sure if the stallholder knows what i’m doing. But i was wrong. It was really simple, because each stall has a barcode which you can scan to pay. The stallholder gets a notification from their ipad and they will process the payment and pass you the receipt. It’s that simple. And i like the idea of skipping the wait and ordering in advance if i need to tapao food. A step closer to cashless society! 👍🏼

Psst.. for anyone who signs up for an account on the FR Rewards App, you will receive a 10% off a minimum spend of $6.

The crackling skin ratio to fat and meat was so on point. Writing about it has got me salivating, it’s so good that you guys have got to try it 😋 Their curry is also fragrant and it’s not the thin kind of curry that most stores would serve. It’s actually very gao and rich which we would prefer our curries to be. The assam seafood had a sour and spicy kick, it gave immense satisfaction to our tastebuds. Seriously, every dish was just deliciously mind blowing. Be warned that these are pretty spicy but we’re sure most Singaporeans can take the spice! 🌶🌶

If you are looking for an unconventional take of our iconic national dish, look no further than this Chili Crab Bread Bowl at Dancing Crab! The 2 live crabs at approximately 700g each, are nicely dissected to be encased within the bread bowl, and can be shared nicely among 4 people (you get 1 pincer each!) if you are ordering some sides or other smaller combos to go along.

No doubt you don’t get the pillowy man tous to dip in, but the crispy yet fluffy bread bowl make equally good dipping buddy. And even if the dish looks innovative, the sauce still retains the characteristic of the Singapore chili crab sauce; tangy, spicy (thanks to the chili padi used!), herbaceous from the lemongrass and ginger. What’s different are the pomelo chunks, that enhanced the refreshing taste amidst the heavy flavours in that bowl. Such citrusy with those from oranges are truly welcomed!

Might seem a little pricey, but fresh firm crab meat is definitely worth the wow especially when shared. At least we were rather impressed with a different type of chili crab.

Another selection from their buffet menu. Lots of sago but mango “soup” is quite diluted.

Mini bowl of dessert selection from their ala carte dim sum buffet selection. Mushy red bean paste that is not too sweet!
