Finally had my craving satisfied!! Went on a Friday night and the queue was so long that we decided to queue for sushiro but ended up waiting almost an hour which was even longer :-( decided to go for late lunch on Sat and waited for about 15 mins. Loooove the shiok maki $18.80+ for the eel one. It’s sinful but really so so good. Decided to be adventurous and try the pidan maki $16.80+ but didn’t really like it. Another must order which I forgot to take pic is the salmon fish head soup (sake atama soup $10+). The portion is so big and the warm soup just makes the meal more hearty. Spent about $27 per pax as we ordered agedashi tofu $5+ as well which could have been skipped given that there was tofu and vege in the soup. A must visit, no service charge!

this was slightly underwhelming. pizza dough and crust were good but the flavours were not matching up.

Tagliatelle pasta, Marsala wine and Parmesan emulsion, Wagyu beef, shaved black truffle

pasta portion could be more, beef cubes were really tender and i enjoyed the cream sauce!

an assortment of seafood and veggies served w a lemon mayo dip. seafood include prawns, squid, whitebait and soft shell crab

Pretty decent. The soup is not too salty.

Personally I preferred the Gen 2, but some of my friends thought that this is more authentic Japanese sushi “style” idk man

Both are fire

Nice pandan fragrance with light & milky cream. Gula melaka jelly is not too sweet, overall sweetness just nice! Will purchase again👍🏻

I believe this is familiar to everyone but interestingly, I actually never had this before.

This is the all famous Shiok Maki ($18.80) from Koh Grill & Sushi Bar, and my oh my I see why it's so famous. I got the gen 1 series which comes with unagi, and it's so generously drenched with some mayonnaise sauce and loads of tobiko. The fresh unagi and salmon pieces within, accompanied by the rich yet tangy sauce and umami from the tobiko, finally with the smoky flavours from the torch, this maki really lived up to it's name. Absolutely lovely. I had the whole maki to myself and it wasn't a problem!

The Yaki Udon ($12) was also good, with sweet savoury flavours and some smokiness from the stir fry. Love the chewy texture from the udon noodles!

Definitely back for more of the shiok maki!

A midweek perk-me-up splurge meal was in order so I went for Aoki's Mazechirashi ($50). The lunch set came with salad, miso soup, pickles, and dessert. Really quite the treat, the ratio of toppings to rice was simply *chef’s kiss*. I had topped up $5 for uni (because we all need that extra decadence right?!).

Much love for the briny ikura and the many assortments of fish (cries in maguro)! The mixed sashimi was pleasantly marinated - fresh-tasting, plump, and savoury but not salty. There was plenty of sweetness from the abundance of their pillowy soft tamago cubes too. The Japanese cucumbers were great additions as well, offering refreshing crunchy bites in every spoonful. Oh and even the sushi rice was yummy, the temperature of the grains and the acidity were nice.

Dessert was a very competent trio of smooth matcha pudding with azuki, raspberry ice cream in a crispy Monaka, and sweet jelly, served together with a hot cup of Hojicha.
