The rice and chilli sauce are not the best, but they have a long menu and everything is good, including the chicken. One of our favs for chicken rice in Singapore
From Reopen CSB Seafood Special Stall
卤肉饭
$5 portion braised pork rice.
Taste better than it looks.
Savoury stirred fried cabbage, hard boiled egg, braised sliced lean pork, braised taupok, crunchy peanuts, preserved vegetables, luncheon meat over fluffy rice drizzled with savoury sauce.
Totally satisfying.
One of better chicken rice joints in Singapore- tasty yellow chicken, even if the rice is not the most fragrant. Other dishes are also yummy. Great value.
Inflation hitting us hard and it is not easy to find cheap foods nowadays. Yet, there’s still some humble food stalls that willing to provide affordable meals at a much lower price.
Hide at this very quiet food centre, you would find this Malay foods stall that sell everything at $2.50.
For only $2.50, yet there’s so many options to choose from; which include nasi lemak, lontong, briyani and much more.
Traditional Malay Muslim Cuisine - The $2.50 Shop opens from early morning and you could see many regulars would drop by to grab their breakfast from this stall.
Even though they selling it at $2.50, the portion is still competitive with enough fried chicken pieces, egg, ikan bilis and peanut. Complete with their chili sauce. You may opt for fish instead of chicken.
From Feng Ji Chicken Rice.
咖喱鸡
Bowl of curry chicken and potato that pairs perfectly with fluffy rice.
Flavourful and soft.
Normally full house during peak dining hours.
Loved the interior deco, it bring on conversations too.
This place is popular among the residents nearby for affordable meals.
In case you wasn’t aware, this place has connection with the famous Feng Feng Chicken Rice at Woodlands.
Go for the deluxe single chicken rice set for individual, that comes with the chicken rice, egg, soup and vegetables of the day.
The only coffee shop that you can find in this area and many people would come here for an affordable meal.
There are a few stalls inside and the Teochew Fishball Minced Meat Noodle is one of the popular stalls here. While most people came here for their laksa, I just want to try something not too spicy for the hot day.
Their Teochew Fishball Minced Meat Noodle still tastes decent to me. I like their minced meat, sliced pork and meatballs; which you would get the tender texture bites.

Really nice handmade traditional kueh at Jalan Kukoh Food Centre, a probably less well-known hawker centre around! Tried Soon Kueh and Peng Kueh, and both were full of vegetables and glutinous rice🍚, really fragrant and good😌! The skin was very smooth too, though a little on the thicker side😬. Do note that it's best to pre-order first these through a phone call, to avoid disappointment when you head down☎️!
To try on their kueh, you have to come during specific time as they don’t open the whole day.
They only start selling their kueh in the morning from 7am till sold out and 3pm for another round.
I hear that you could actually call in to preorder and collect it yourself.
It is almost sold out when I came in the morning around 8am, prove that their kuehs are very popular; even it is hidden in this little neighbourhood.
The skin was great texture with generous portion of ingredients inside.
