Finally visited this recently famous ramen restaurant, @ramenya0103 that really makes you feel like you're in Japan! With just 8 seats in a tight space, expect long queues and waiting times. I queued for 1.5 hours at about 7.30pm on a weekday afternoon 🫠

I got the Tonkotsu Ramen Black ($12.80) which I felt was quite affordable with quite a few pieces of char siu. The main star of the show got to be the broth, as it was extremely thick (almost like a sauce) and it had so much umami flavours while not being too salty. We all agreed that we can definitely drink alot of the soup! Love that the garlic oil added extra umami as well. The noodles were alright, quite al dente. Char Siu was very tender and flavourful!

Definitely a great bowl of ramen, but really does not warrant the 1.5 hour wait. 30 minutes is the maximum I will wait for this!

Their Special Shio Ramen is well-balanced - flavourful yet clean with a nuanced saltiness that doesn't overwhelm your tastebuds or leave you thirsty. It goes really well with their toothsome noodles, and I cleared the entire bowl without realising it. 😅 More importantly, these thick char siu slices adorning the bowl be BUSSIN' HARD! Every slice is not overly fatty and takes on a soft, melt-in-the-mouth consistency, with the rich meaty flavours intensified by a smoky caramelisation from the blowtorch. It's so SHIO-k that I wouldn't mind dropping by for a 2nd bowl despite being a Westie! 🍜

Signature Char Grilled Pork Cheek (100g)

The Meats here at Burning Oak are Charcoal Grilled. And both rice bowls I had here were really good. Can taste the smokiness of the meats.

The beef striploin was tender and perfectly medium rare.

The pork Cheek was tender and fatty. This was so good, I da pao another back for supper.

Portion not very filling for me. But there's plenty of other foods here at bedok marketplace to fill u up.

3 choices if sauces to choose from for every rice bowl u order

- XO yakiniku
- Creamy Dashi Garlic
- Spicy Miso

If like me, u can't decide which sauce, the menu will guide u which sauce is suitable for which meats.

Charredlicious meat over a bed of steaming pearl rice, adorned with furikake, cherry tomatoes, onsen egg, spring onions, and drizzled with creamy dashi garlic sauce for extra flavouring. The beef, was cooked to medium rare as requested, and was elegantly soy glazed. The pork cheek was both firm and tender, and each meat serving was about 60g.
While it may lean slightly towards the expensive side, the quality and presentation undoubtedly justify the price.

It’s that time of the year to reunite with loved ones and usher in prosperity and abundance as we celebrate the Year of the Rabbit 🥳

The colourful tradition of lo hei brings together families and friends during Chinese New Year, when everyone gathers around the table to toss yusheng. Luckily for me who have Muslim friends, I got my Yusheng from @heisushi the first halal Japanese belt sushi restaurant in Singapore (from the same people of @sakaesushisg ).

This Spring Yusheng consist of
Fresh Salmon Sashimi, White Radish, White Ginger, Red Ginger, Brown Melon, Carrot, Green Radish, Lettuce, Jellyfish, Candied Lime, Peanuts, Sesame Seeds and Pok Chui Crackers in Yu Sheng Plum Sauce. Very refreshing with the addition of jellyfish for more flavour.

Now I can toss with my Muslim friends and spread the joy and huat.

Offering an extensive menu with over 200 varieties of delectable Japanese dishes. Apart from a wide selection of sushi, they also offer items such as mini baked rice with a variety of toppings, perfectly grilled yakimono items, fusion udon with Japanese sesame sauce topped with shredded cheese, hibachi (slow cooked on a grill plate) and nabemono (Japanese steamboat).

And of course, you can always sit at the conveyor belt and take your pick of what comes along which is always a fun part of eating at a sushi restaurant.

This oero dessert is good. Never expect a Japanese sushi to have a nice dessert but this come a pleasant surprise for me.
