This portion is for 2 people and was definitely worth for the price. However the char siew was just alright, nothing special. The plus point is the price whereby it is affordable.

Perhaps standards have dipped or inconsistency, the meats didn’t impress that evening. The char siew was rather dry and lacking the smoky aroma while the duck was overly salty. The saving grace was the roast pork which had a nice crispy skin and you can taste the Chinese five spice powder from each bite. Unfortunately, one of the pieces had a strong porky taste which dampened the mood somehow. Nonetheless, when you’re in the Bugis area, this is still a solid plate of roast meat and this stall has a perpetual queue from lunchtime to dinner time.

Char Siew & Roast Pork Rice, $3. Messy plate of white rice covered with dark gravy over a bed of charred grilled Char Siew & crispy roast pork! Crispy pork belly is roasted to crispiness with nicely ratio fats and meat that’s not too oily for our liking. Charred grilled char siew has some burnt smoky edges that’s so tender! Best combination when paired with their tasty chilli sauce! .

Hands down my most favourite char siew and roasted pork rice place!

At just $3, you get what you see in the picture. The meat were tender and savory while the sauce and chilli perfected it.

It's a must try if you're in the area.

for its competitive price tag, this is a really good plate of roast meat rice. not only are the portions generous, it’s delicious as well. the roast meat boasts a good ratio of lean meat to fats, providing a tender chewiness throughout, as well as a crisp, crackling layer of caramelised skin. the smoky yet sweet dark sauce mixes well with the chili that carries a mild spice; making for an overall comforting meal. despite the crowded and humid coffee shop environment, this affordable plate of rice will make the wait worth it.

rating: 4/5

Asked for well charred and fatty pieces and they certainly delivered. Char siew was well Marinated, with lots of smokiness from the charred bits, and having a chewy yet rather tender texture. Siobak was average but all went well with the dark sauce and the fiesty sambal. Generous portion too
