Newton hawker centre is slow in the day and I settled on this which felt novel. Roast stall but paired with curry (my favourite). Ultimately it's just normal caifan curry added to your rice lor. Roast meat was acceptable but char siew was the type closer to lup cheong, of which I'm not a fan.

This has a dark charcoal black colour, with a creamy, velvety texture. It has aromas and tastes of roasted barley, roasted coffee beans, and chocolate.
.
Nicely earthy smoky bitter in flavour, with a short quick finish. Not overly strong, a fairly drinkable brew.

Nicely bitter roasty sweet in flavour, with a medium lingering finish. A decent brew to alleviate the heat from spicy dishes.

Many stalls sell similar genre of food - of satay, bbq seafood, zichar, chicken wings, carrot cake, prawn noodles, and heaps of fresh coconut drinks to cleanse the greasy mouthfeel after all that feasting.

Minimum 2 pieces to order, which will cost you $4.40.
1. Poorly rolled Popiah
2. Poor customer service
3. Effortless in sparse ingredients (no garlic, no lettuce)
4. Plate was thrown to me when it was done.
5. So expensive that I ate it all any way.

I think all in all, it was a bad experience and Fortune Popiah still does it well in ALL aspects from the points above.
