My granny used to live in the Geylang East / Aljunied area, and this stall has been in the food centre at the bottom of block for as long as I can remember.

The old auntie and uncle serves a unique combination of mackeral fish soup and braised duck. Their mackeral fish is sliced thickly and is fresh and succulently sweet. The soup is light and tasty with a nice hint of sze chuan cai and mustard green.

Their duck is served in tiny chunks in a strong braising sauce. I love dousing my rice with the sauce or mixing a little of the sauce with the soup to enhance its flavour.

The old couple has been talking about retiring the last few years so do drop by before they retire! Though expect to wait at least 30 minutes to an hour during peak hours!

I had been dreaming about this fish and duck combo older than modern Singapore haha. I don't know was it a good or bad thing - the duck was braised so far it had become like pork. It's tender and not gamey. It also doesn't look like usual duck due to the way it's chopped.

I had been dreaming about this fish and duck combo older than modern Singapore haha. Not sure about the past but there's only mackerel now. It's fresh and quality, like the best fish soups. The soup was light and tasty. This bowl won't blow you away - then again it's just fish soup.

Mackerel fish soup that comes filled with fresh and succulent mackerel. Each piece of premium horse mackerel is thick and soft.

Couldn’t decide where to have dinner so we did a quick search and ended up here in Geylang East Centre Market, then decided on this fish soup since almost everyone was having it/waiting for it! Got it after about a half an hour wait and we really liked it. The clear broth has strong hints of Sze Chuan vegetables, tomatoes and dried flatfish (if we’re not wrong). The fish slices were super fresh and sweet, very tender but still had that nice bite - my favourite kind to have! Their braised duck seem popular too and we're gonna be back to give that a try!

My friend told me the stall had been there for ages. (More than 20 years)
Served by very friendly uncle and aunt. When I approached them, they told me that i must wait for at least 20mins. So I replied them that good food is worth the wait. The uncle proudly said that if the food is not nice, I better go back to complain.
Side note: On every Wednesday they have a special dish - Braised Duck Neck
