This is probably my first dine-in since early April, great that this place still wasn’t crowded as usual. I guess it is because of the location but might change when the MRT station is open here.

If you are lazy or couldn’t decide what to get, you can grab seats immediately and tell them how many people. They have a full set of preselected yong tau foo.

We ordered by letting them know how many pax we were ordering for, and for our set for two we got: 2 eggplants, 2 silken tofu, 2 fried taukwa, 2 fishballs, 2 taukee, 2 fried wanton, 2 bitter gourds, 2 okra, 1 quail egg, 1 taupok and a heap of kangkong.

My favourite thing was the SAUCE. A very satisfying sweet-savoury sauce that wasn’t too starchy but not watery. I don’t usually like sauces over ytfs because they are usually the red sweet sauce which I’m not a big fan of. But this was really good! The fragrance of the garlic also came through. Perfect with the rice, which is $0.50 per bowl.

As for the items, I liked the silken tofu, the eggplant and the taukee. The taukee is really salty tho, so make sure to drench it in sauce and eat with rice. Enjoyed the kangkong as well. Portions are generous here!

This has been my family’s regular go to Ampang yong tau foo place for awhile now.

They have a customisable standard set (you just need to tell them how many pax), where you can change the ingredients that you want. We usually order extra fried tau kee (beancurd skin) as they go super well with the gravy (that is not too salty). The other ingredients are good & fresh too.

Ampang Yong Tau Foo has been around for about more than 45 Years! Selling not just Yong Tau Foo but also Duck Rice and Kway Chap. .
I have to say their Ampang Sauce was the Main highlight of this dish! Just with the Gravy and Rice, Lunch can be completed even without having the ingredients! So happen to passed by earlier, Its another Yong Tau Foo place that feels like home!

Comes with beancurd, bitter gourd, brinjal, fish ball, fried beancurd skin, fried quail egg, fried wanton, lady’s finger and tonnes of kangkong drenched in their secret tasty gravy. This definitely comes at a affordable price for a filling and hearty meal at just $4/pax and $0.50 for each bowl of rice. I would like to visit again but it’s quite inconvenient via public transport right now. Looking forward to the future Springleaf Station (TEL) that would help to bring more convenience to this place 》 $9 / 2 Pax

🤤🤤 Though their sauce is slightly less traditional now w less soy beans and more garlic. 🤔

I told @timchee that I'll make Hakka yong tau foo for him next time but he says that it's too much trouble, just come here to eat at $4 per person 🙄🙄🙄 #burpple #hakkafood #hakkayongtaufoo #yongtaufu
