[CLOSED] Nigiro Cafe (Suntec City)

52 Wishlisted

* This place has closed :( Please try somewhere else. * Nigiro is ‘origin’ spelt backwards and this is fitting as it is the very first café concept by Chef Kensuke Sakai, who holds the title of having been the youngest challenger —at age 26— to compete on Iron Chef, a famous TV culinary competition in Japan. The café specialises in Japanese-Italian cuisines.

Helmed by Chef Kensuke Sakai who competed in the popular Japanese television program Iron Chef, Nigiro Cafe has something for everyone. Please read my review at www.hungryghost.sg

Sweet, tangy and savoury, Nigiro Café's Prawn Risotto was surprisingly good. A nice change from the cream based Italian risotto that I usually have, it was not as heavy but just as flavourful. Coupled with bits of tomato and onions (if I am not wrong), the tanginess is evident in every spoonful. The creamy texture also contrast delightfully with the prawns.

A hearty portion though a little steep in price, at $19.50.

pretty plate for lunch at $16.99 and comes with a free drink. food was good but too full to finish all.
on the plate: corn soup, rice, chicken cutlet, roasted capsicum, truffle mushroom tempura, salad and fruits for dessert 👍

Didn't expect much because we were taking the 1 for 1 pasta deal, but even their simpliest sounding pastas were so high quality 😱 We ordered the pesto genovese and neapolitan and both sauces are definitely not out of a can😍 the pasta also feels like real different from the run of the mill noodles, almost handmade? wonder why. perfectly al dente with a very good bite to it!

I might never understand or truly appreciate cheese tarts, but @Cweizhi was clearly all for it.

Covered in a blanket of cinnamon powder, Nigiro Cafe’s limited oozing cheese custard tart was just too rich for me. Hence, having it all for herself, Wei Zhi finished it in the blink of an eye and that goes to show how good it was.
