Ren Matcha Fresh Milk Latte [RM16]; Hojicha Soy Milk Latte [RM10] ⁣
✨: The matcha and hojicha were the best I've had in Malaysia thus far. Indeed, the matcha was a vibrant green and jam-packed with umami, both signs of the best quality matcha. Loved the minimalist interior and the staff who were so helpful and friendly. ⁣
💬:⁣⁣ The quaint space doesn't fit many, so there is a risk of not having anywhere to sit. Also wouldn't recommend if you don't have a particular appreciation for green tea (price is pretty steep 😆)⁣

Will definitely be back to try more menu items as well as shoot my shot at seeing Niko the cat (since I missed him this time!)

Niko neko matcha really brightens up our day. I personally prefers "kiku"- the perfect balance of umaminess and sweetness. It also contains high antioxidant contents!! 👍
Also, ❤️❤️ the Matcha Dacquoise dessert! * psst: these are available on weekends only & in limited quantity. Be sure to grab one!

The most umaminess out of the three matcha levels. Perfect for a hot day.

This matcha latte was a real treat. I chose Kuki because it was in the middle of the matcha strength and smoothness scale. Love the umami, earthy flavour. I would love to try it with soy milk next time.

I found this very interesting. The tasting notes listed for this green tea included ‘umami’ and that’s exactly what the finishing note was. It’s fragrant and pleasant but one that’s hard to describe. On my next visit, I’d ask for less milk as I found it a bit too creamy (and heavy).

This Genmaicha comes with a hint of roasted brown rice powder that leaves an almost savoury aftertaste – almost like rice crackers! You can choose to have it with milk, hot or iced, but take their recommendation and have it with just hot water – the flavours really come through!
