Now for the star of the night: The Niku Blue ($108.00++), an impressive platter of 5 different cuts of beef. There is a method to the madness - the recommended feasting sequence for us was: Knuckle, Rib Finger, Chuck Roll, Bottom Round, & Chuck Tender. Obviously you don't *have* to follow it, but..... You should.

We did, very quickly understood why. The marbling of the beef became more complex in this sequence, which made the flavours & textures more amazing as you went on. At the end of it all, the wagyu was practically melting in our mouths as we moaned & grunted in absolute delight (lol)

I like how the meats are not marinated like crazy, so you can enjoy the true taste of fresh wagyu. The condiments on the side (such as truffle salt & their special onion sauce) were good, but the beef was so delicious on its own that I didn't reach for them much. That's pretty much how I eat most of the time, anyway.

In all, honestly a good sampling platter for you & your friends to figure out your favourites to order during your next visit 😉

Thank you Niku Kin for the hospitality, & Burpple for the invite! 💕

I have actually never had beef sushi before, so I guess I'm in trouble cos Niku Kin set the bar pretty damn high...

Their Wagyu Aburi Sushi Set ($7.90++ for 2, $16.90++ for 5, $28.90++ for 10) was delightful & enjoyable. The rice was perfect as were the wagyu slices, which retained their great meaty flavour without being gamey. Both were in good proportion to each other as well.

Thank you Niku Kin for the hospitality, & Burpple for the invite! 💕

What I thought was the Wagyu Tartare ($12) was actually it's distant cousin of the wasabi variation - back when we were hosted at Niku Kin, it wasn't on the menu & chef wanted to get feedback from us on this dish.

Well, I LOVED IT! We all did. It stays true to the delightful experience of a beef tartare, but has that refreshing kick of wasabi as well. Thumbs up from me, & I hope they will put it on their menu 😍

The Japanese Kimchi ($4.50) was refreshing on the palate - 非常开味. It's not sour or crazy spicy, in fact it was kind of sweet with a well-balanced hint of spice.

I wish we could've had more 😂 I really liked this & was tempted to buy a bottle back - Julius was too!

The appetizers exceeded our expectations & got us really excited about the remaining food to come. They sound simple, but there's more than meets the eye.

The Wagyu Miso Tofu ($5.80) was decadent; the silky soft tofu slides down your throat so easily, & paired with the generous serving of miso-marinated wagyu that comes on top, it's a great way to start your meal.
