Steeped in a decadent cream sauce further enriched by an oozy onsen egg, the broad sheets of tagliatelle were the perfect vehicle for flavour ,and the crunch of the black fungus the perfect foil to the sauce's richness.

Being their flagship outlet there, they have revamped to introduce much better space to continue serving their signature chocolate and foods.

Came here for some dessert after meal, ordered the hot chocolate with dark milk of 45% chocolate.

All their chocolate are freshly made on site and take directly from the tap at the counter.

Creamy and rich taste of chocolate.

While my starter was a flop, the main more than made up for it. A most chunky cut of tender ribeye - perfectly cooked to a medium rare - was served with a flavoursome peppercorn pan sauce and a mountain of crisp truffle shoestring fries snowed over with a flurry of grated parmesan.

If steak's not your thing, the $25 2-course set dinner also gives you the choice of Angus beef brisket, grilled red snapper, onsen egg & black fungus tagliatelle, prawn and crab meat aglio olio, or salmon and sun-dried tomato.

The newly revamped Awfully Chocolate Bakery & Cafe looks pretty swish right now, and along with its shiny new interior also comes a pretty sweet 2-course set dinner for a pocket-friendly price of $25.

They have a fairly wide range of starters and mains to choose from, including Singapore borscht, warm camembert & pear salad, grilled cauliflower salad, wild mushroom soup and a French onion soup. I love a good French onion, but unfortunately this one missed the mark. Whilst the abundance of caramelised onions in a pleasingly rich broth was texturally sumptuous, the over liberal use of salt made it near undrinkable. At least the cheese crostini was decent.

Love the service. They pay attention to you. They explained the dishes and even cut the bread for you. Maybe because we ordered the brunch? But still great service!

Awfully Chocolate isn’t new to most of us. They are famous for their decadent chocolate! But this is the first time they have a cafe that serves brunch and also dinner at $25!

Located at 131 East Coast Road.

Do make reservations as it is crowded on the weekends!

Rich hot chocolate with coffee; chocolate taste > coffee taste; slightly sweet..
