* This place has closed :( Please try somewhere else. * Tuck into hearty, value-for-money meals at the newest concept to hit the hip dining enclave of Duxton Road - Ninja Bowl. The Astronauts Group owns Chillax Cafe, Ninja Bowl and the newly opened Ninja Cut. Once through the doors at Ninja Bowl, the modern industrial interior invites one to explore further into the long, narrow enclave of this fascinating shophouse. The on-trend ‘unfinished’ look comes by way of concrete floor and main counter base, uncovered black metal beams overhead, wood walls and a muted colour palette; all of which lend to an unintimidating and inviting vibe. Ninja Bowl offers CBD diners an extensive menu filled with unique all-day brunch options, sandwiches and the piece de resistance - ‘Ninja Bowls’. These bowls comprise Japanese-inspired items such as aburi chashu (torched pork belly) and yaki unagi (grilled eel) and options of padding them up with quinoa, orzo pasta, or a proprietary rice blend. Customers simply place their orders at the counter and meals are prepped a la minute and served to the tables. Prices at Ninja Bowl are all nett cost and the restaurant does not have service charge.

French toast served with maple glazed pork belly, rocket, burrata, pomegranates and tomatoes! A great combination of the ingredients!

Restaurant is tuck at the end of the street at a little corner without a prominent sign. So it could be easier to miss.

Portion is way too small. I and my friend are not children, we should not be treated with kid-size meals ! I ordered Ebisu, my friend ordered Ontaru pasta. If we as Asians feel that the portion is small, then all the more a Caucasian would feel the portion is even smaller.

Taste is good though.

Hope you can improve on the portion.

Ninja bowl’s Genki is a yaki unagi served alongside Korean mung beansprouts, roasted pumpkin, beets, and a soft gooey onsen egg. The portion of unagi was generous and also grilled to perfection with a slightly sweet teriyaki sauce. The roasted pumpkins were also delectably tasty. Remember to add rice so that the onsen egg has a home to melt itself into a creamy gorgeous mess :)

This has a total belly score of *drumroll*: 3.75/5! 🐟

Add $3 for quinoa. $2 for rice/orzo/greens.

Well cooked chicken thigh. Flavorful bowl when you mix everything. Nice crunch from the cabbage slaw!

Disappointed to see the limp sliced beef instead of the beef steak. Was told by the staff that the menu has changed and they were no longer using beef steak for Ushi. No truffle taste as well. Not great. If I had known better, I would have headed to Rakki Bowl (down the lane) to get my fix of truffle beef bowl

Now this one fared better than both their pastas. You get egg done tamago style and a sous vide egg. The bolognaise sauce was rich on the beef flavours. Great to mop up with the croissant.
