Just as slurpy, the Italian-inspired “Ppong” packed a good tinge of heat. Spiked with white wine, the soup-ish dish was savoury, hearty and belly-warming. However, topped with briny plump clams, mussels, cabbage, fragrant garlic, and chili, the Vongole Ppong ($20.90/ Ala carte) lacked a little oomph as the broth was pretty mild-tasting on a whole.

*Ade Set ($59.90/ 500 ml)

A night of true carb overload, we got the Ade Set ($59.90/ 500 ml) and ordered the top-seller Seafood Ro PPong-Roje ($22.90/ Ala carte) and Vongole Ppong ($20.90/ Ala carte). Super decadent, the Seafood Ro PPong-Roje was a crowd-pleasing mix of chewy noodles covered in a warm creamy “pink” sauce topped with shrimp, tobiko, mussels, and shredded mozzarella cheese. The slight tanginess from the tomato puree helped counter as well as balance the heavy cream base. Overall, a very rich (best to share as it gets cloying towards the end), fun and safe number with a fresh assortment of seafood.

Haven't been to Nipong Naepong in a hot minute but I am glad the Ni Pizza - Sweet Potato ($20.90/ Ala carte) was still as satisfying as before. Who knew that sweet potato would go so well with melted cheese?! The piping hot tortilla base with the smooth housemade sweet potato puree and accompanying whipped cream weren’t all that cloying or greasy either. The sweet and savoury combo was surprisingly light as both the crispy crust and the layer of filling were pleasantly thin. The taste of the sweet potato and cheese was also relatively mild so the added sweetness and milkiness from the cool fluffy cream was very much welcomed.

We got the ADE SET ($64.90) which comes with 2 ppongs, 1 pizza & 1litre ade. Most worth it option imo esp if you’re two big eaters/three pax. We got
🍠Ni Pizza
🥛Lychee Yoghurt Ade
🍜Vongole Ppong
🍅Beef Ro ppong (+$2) - rosé cream based!!

It's alright, it's not as greasy as it looks. The very common sweet garlic cheesy taste profile, reasonably mild. Not particularly awe inspiring I'd say, if you like this flavour combi then by all means

The Cha Ppong was quite spicy to me even though it's spicy level 1. If you can handle spice, I would recommend to go for level 2 so that it taste more flavourful.

For both the cream Keu Ppong and Soi Chicken Risotto, they are flavourful at the start but I find them to be rather jelak after a while.

A simple, hearty Korean-Italian fusion pasta brimming with mussels and clams served in broth flavoured with fragrance of garlic and white wine. It is yummy and the intense peppery chopped green chilli also gives a fiery finish to this dish!

Cooked with briny clams, white wine and fragrant garlic. Noodles were al dente and flavourful as it absorbed the broth. Garlic was definitely well fry till it was slightly charred which gave a good kick to the whole dish.

Tomato base spaghetti style jjamppong; al-dente noodle that is chewy; sauce is very rich, creamy & flavorful; best for sharing as gets a little jelat; topped with lots of cheese; good fusion dish..

Classic Korean spicy seafood noodle soup; al-dente noodle that is chewy; soup is flavorful & comforting soup with strong smoky taste; though the soup flavor is not as strong as the previous time I've tried, but still the best till date; with generous portion of crunchy glass prawn, mussels, squid & quail eggs; spicy lover to opt for more spicy..

Competent version here, as usual their bulgogi is exceptional and while I don't like tteokbokki as it doesn't catch sauce well, I have the say the cream sauce is decent, not too jelat but it's thick enough at the same time

Pretty decent, I'm surprised the spinach can be eaten raw. It's neither super savoury nor sweet, there's just a tad of sweetness from the cream cheese. Much healthier than their sweet pizzas

My second time here at Nipong Naepong and my repeat dish was the Spicy Keu Risotto. However, I forgot to request for less spice this time and found the spice level unbearable. The previous time I had the risotto, the lower spice level allowed me to taste the flavour of the dish better which made it more enjoyable as compared to this time. We also ordered the Sweet Potato pizza, Beef Ro Ppong Roje, Tae Ppong and Rose Tteokbokki. The pizza was insanely good, but really should be shared with a group (we had 5 pax). We enjoyed the Tae Ppong and the Rose Tteokbokki best. I would give the Beef Ro Ppong Roje a miss the next time and try something else instead.

I ordered the Dakgalbi rice dish & my partner ordered the chicken risotto! We ordered the best-seller Sweet Potato Pizza (we saw later that you can actually request for half sized and not the whole pizza) and surprisingly we really enjoyed the dish and was amused at how the flavours seem to mix well. Definitely coming back here again to try their other dishes and pizza flavours!

Their beef is really really good for this price. It's everything a gyudon should be apart from the rice lol.

I didn't think something this delicate would work well in the cream based sauce but yes, the umami is actually amplified.

Only problem is the insane waiting time now, many tables didn't have food and dinner only just started at about 6pm. The waiting time really does affect the experience, we came without having to queue so imagine maybe an hour from standing to getting food on the table?

Why is this more expensive when mussels and clams aren't even that expensive?

Nonetheless its been a while since we had this and it's still good. There's a change with the current version including a lot of preserved veg which doesn't alter the taste too much but introduces a bite into each spoon, quite impressive because they are suspended in the soup. On top of this improvement it's good as always
