Nestled in Whampoa Drive Hawker, it may not be the most accessible location but the price point just made up for it. This army stew was at $19.80 with preorder and prepayment required. But there were so many ingredients (spam, cheese sausage, rice cake, fish cake, baked beans, enoki, tofu, cabbage, kimchi, potato noodles and instant noodles) included. They even prepared a jug of broth and separate serving of the sauce for you to adjust to your own liking.

This serving fed 2 adults well and easily half the price of what you pay for in major restaurants.

Their Crispy Chicken Cutlet also has all the traits of a good fried chicken: flavourful crunchy batter encasing the tender & well-marinated thigh meat without being overly greasy. It helped that there's a generous portion of pickled radish in the dishes - the tang made each bowl less jelat and more well-rounded in flavour! 🍗

Friend A & I found ourselves addicted to the QQ Cheesy Tteokbokki! I mean, that cheesy stretch (see picture) says everything. 😮‍💨 The rice cakes were well-cooked to a soft, chewy texture and smothered in a sweet-spicy gochujang sauce and molten cheese. Perfect for sharing as a snack or side!💯

Their Lu Rou Fan comes with tender braised pork chunks with melt-in-the-mouth fats, making every mouthful sinful but so good! The braising sauce also has a rich soy flavour - exactly the type of lu rou fan I enjoy! 🐷

𝐐𝐐 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐲 𝐓𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐤𝐤𝐢 ($3.30) - Soft and chewy rice cake in a cheesy flavourful sauce. Did find it on the sweeter side and would have appreciated stronger kick. Pairs well with springy ramen (+$1.50).

Other dishes:
𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 ($4.70) - Always a fan of lu rou fan and this was an enjoyable rendition that was savory with the right level of sweetness & saltiness. Appreciated the ratio of fatty:lean pork and braised egg.

𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐭 ($4.30) - Tender meat with crackling golden brown batter, topped with tasty seasoning.
