These cute takeaway bottles are available at the cooler at the cashier counter. Even if the drinks weren’t that fantastic, I would buy them for their bottles anyway - they’re flat and even cuter than the Chun Cui He shampoo bottles IMO.

I wasn’t particularly impressed by the black milk tea. The taste of the tea wasn’t very strong and it seemed to be more milky than anything else. Would rather take the matcha latte anytime, which is probably consistent with their specialty as a matcha cafe anyway!

Forgot to take a photo of the matcha latte bottle before we downed the drink so a photo of the cooler will have to do!

I tried the hot matcha latte at the cafe itself which was good. Fortunately, in comparison, the cold takeaway matcha latte is able to hold its own as well. You’ll have to shake the bottle before drinking as the matcha does tend to sediment at the bottom. I did find the matcha taste to be weaker than the hot latte I had but maybe it was just that batch? Still a nice drink to grab and go if you pass by that area. In any case, the bottle is adorable so I would buy it for that reason alone too! 😂

Reached nocturne no 5 at 10.55am in hopes of getting to try this platter and the matcha cheesecake. I had a flight to catch the same afternoon so I hoped they would open on time at 11am. Nope, things never go according to plan though. Despite the hours printed on the storefront, the lights in the cafe switched on like clockwork at 11am. However, when I tried entering the cafe, the owner made an ‘X’ sign with his hands saying (in Korean) “no, we are closed”. When asked what time they would be open, he replied 11.30. Drat. I ended up using google translate to

Served chilled and slightly frozen, the cheesecake comes in a really huge slice that might be best shared! Fret not as this cheesecake wasn’t too overwhelming or rich, with a pleasant, tangy yogurt-alike flavour that somehow resembled a tofu cheesecake instead. Hence it was lighter and easier to the palate, which I managed to finish on my own, along with another scoop of matcha ice cream, which was offered on the house due to the 30 minutes waiting time for this cheesecake despite my prior reservation. On the downside ,matcha flavour was rather weak here, with only subtle distinctive notes in the thinnest layer of level 5. Nevertheless, it was still enjoyable as a cheesecake, along with a crisp and crumbly Oreo cookie base.
2️⃣No.5+ Matcha ice cream [3800 KRW ~> $4.50]
Still the BEST matcha ice cream to me in Seoul, serving from level 1 to 5+ of matcha! 🍵 No doubt I got the highest level, which held a distinct, umami earthy note coupled with a lingering bitter undertone which I adored greatly! 💕 The texture was thick, smooth, creamy and pretty dense which didn’t melt as fast too, allowing a prolonged enjoyment.
3️⃣Matcha milk tea [ 3800 KRW ~>$4.50]
Weaker matcha flavour as compared to the gelato that leans towards the milky flavour profile, with only a mild earthy note. Tbh I ordered this solely for the sake of the bottle (and the gram😅) which I kept and reused it as a water bottle 🤭. For those who aren’t hardcore matchaholics, you might enjoy this “sweet matcha” beverage! ~ .
