North Canteen (Nanyang Polytechnic)

Back to north canteen again for noodles — and while tom yum from banmian stores never tastes like tom yum at all, it’s my all time comfort food. North canteen’s tom yum is rich and hearty, served in substantial portions.

The chicken gives a nice bite, while the thick noodles provide additional textures to the overall mouthfeel. North canteen’s ban mian was generous and comforting. There’s nothing like a good bowl of noodles on rainy days.

Newly opened in north canteen at nanyang polytechnic, this Japanese store sells affordable dishes for those who are on a tight Budget. This tori teriyaki don, cost only $2.90. The set consists of a rice bowl and also a bowl of soup. Although the chicken is a bit tough, but overall, the rice bowl tasted that not bad.

Nasi Briyani (S$2.50)
Just for today at the Noodles stall in @NanyangPoly . The mutton was so tender that it was melt in the mouth. Served with refreshing achar (pickled vegetables). No wonder there's an aunty who tak pau 3 boxes for dinner after having her.
Topped up S$0.60 for scotch egg ( quail egg wrapped in meat and deep fried ). There's also begedil (deep fried potato patty stuffed with fish) at S$0.70 per piece.

It's been too long since I last stepped foot into a school campus, feels kind of cool trying to blend into the youths around ;) Here for a company roadshow, and excited at remembering how affordable canteen food can be! S$2.50 for a satisfying lunch.
