You probably can tell how much the place means to them - just look at the handmade menu and how the owners are hands-on with making your coffee. My iced (drip) coffee was great, potent, clean-tasting and definitely a good perkmeup. + they’re really very attentive too!
Limited selection of only curry rice, or toast and zenzai (red bean dessert), along with beverages on the menu. Both of us got the curry rice set (1300¥), comes with zenzai and coffee/tea. Curry was super tasty, creamy and slightly sweet; so despite the rather small portion of meat, I managed to finish everything - it was good enough to eat just the curry with rice on its own.
The fun part is choosing your own cup upon ordering a hot drink. There’s also a very charming spot of an irori fireplace for the zenzai - it’s refillable! And refill you will, because the zenzai was so darn good even for someone who hates red beans. These were plump, sweet and not at all mushy, and the soup was comfortingly refreshing - the hot version a slightly thicker consistency but with flavours more prominent than the cold.
