The food is not bad, but it’s neither great (the paella is extremely dry) nor authentic (eg. bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar; burrata; ceviche; what’s next - burritos? nachos?), the menu is short (especially tapas), and overall it’s poor value. It’s ironical that much better Spanish restaurants in Singapore have died, while this one continues to prosper. All these bankers and lawyers entertaining clients and one another? The best thing about Ola is the very friendly staff, and the most Spanish thing about it is the long list of wines from Spain!

Take date night up a notch at this snazzy 75-seater restaurant in MBFC. Share the impressive Suckling Pig ($45) that sees roasted loin served on a bed of barley and argula. Also great is the Black Paella — choose between the Lobster ($58) or the Catch of the Day ($38) to pair with your saffron-cooked rice, served with creamy herb aioli and sweet cherry tomatoes.

Loved this place - all the food served to us was spot on and ambience was excellent. Wait staff were friendly too.

We used Burpple Beyond and got 2 plates of tapas and mains each. It was not enough for 4 of us so we ordered another main.

For tapas, we had Gambas (shrimp) and Grilled Octopus. For mains, we had suckling pork loin, chicken paella and seafood squid ink paella. Everything was amazing. The chef gave us some complimentary fried shrimp heads while waiting. That was a great touch.

Highly recommended, especially if you have Burpple beyond. You can really taste the care and effort put in the food.

Food and service here is beautiful. Really enjoyed my dinner here.

The food here was very good. And even if Spanish isn't your type of cuisine, this place could change your mind.

OLA Cocina del Mar is helmed by chef-owner Daniel Chavez, who came from 3-Michelin starred "Can Fabes" in Catalunya, where he worked for two years under the culinary legend, Chef Santi Santamaria. He then came to Singapore at Les Amis under Chef Gunther Hubrechsen.

This is a beautifully grilled octopus with rouille sauce and grilled fennel in orange zest. While the accompanying sauces for Chef Daniel's grilled octopus may change from time to time this dish is on solid fundamentals - smoky octopus with succulent flesh with a well balanced sauce with hints of zest and spice.
